‘Welcome to Plathville’: Micah and Moriah Reveal Hard Life Growing Up
Welcome to Plathville siblings Micah Plath and Moriah Plath opened up about the hardships they endured because of the way they were raised. Kim and Barry Plath raised the pair in a very sheltered environment. And Micah Plath and sister Moriah are just now experiencing life in the real world.
Welcome to Plathville: Life on the Plath Farm
The popular reality show featured the restricted lifestyle of the Plath family. The Welcome to Plathville parents wanted to keep their nine kids from making the same mistakes they did as youths. So, they bought a farm in rural Georgia and limited technology.
Micah Plath and sibling Moriah didn’t have access to TV, radio, or internet, unless it was to do research for homework. And Kim Plath home schooled them, so they didn’t have many friends.
Ethan Plath, the eldest son, married and moved out, which caused a lot of things to change. Moriah Plath spent a lot of time with Ethan’s wife Olivia and even got a job as her assistant. This allowed Moriah to see how other people lived and experience more of the real world.
Then, Olivia set up a modeling audition for Micah Plath because he said he wanted to try it. As the older Welcome to Plathville children began to get a taste for a different life, the Plath parents and their rules seemed harsh to them.
Micah Plath & Moriah Gain Independence
As the next two eldest children, Micah Plath and Welcome to Plathville’s Moriah started to rebel against the rules. So Kim Plath and husband Barry agreed that it was time for them to get a place of their own. The siblings rented a house together. Finally in charge of themselves, the two delighted in their freedom.
Micah Plath’s modeling career took off, with only a small roadblock when the pandemic hit. And Moriah Plath got two jobs of her own. She worked as a yoga instructor and in a mechanic’s shop. The Welcome to Plathville stars also started to have some real life experiences. Both went on their first dates and had their first relationships. As a little bit of time passed, the siblings realized that their upbringing really set them back in a lot of ways.
Welcome to Plathville: Moriah Plath and Micah Speak Out
Recently, Micah Plath opened up to Moriah, Ethan, and Olivia about his first relationship. He told them that the way he was raised made him think that he had to marry the first person he loved. And that that put too much pressure on the relationship. Micah also said that he didn’t feel prepared for adult relationships at all. He had no idea how to have a close relationship with someone that wasn’t part of the Welcome to Plathville family.
Kids Don’t Agree with Parents
And Moriah Plath agreed. In the past, Moriah and Micah confronted their parents about their lack of social and emotional skills. And that they didn’t agree with a lot of their parents’ decisions about their education. Especially when it came to sex education. So, they pleaded with Kim and Welcome to Plathville husband Barry Plath to educate their younger siblings. And to make sure the rest of the kids would be better prepared for the real world. Micah and his sister both agreed that the way they were raised created hardships that most young adults don’t have.
