During Season 4, Episode 2 of Welcome to Plathville, Kim Plath reveals that she is feeling taken advantage of. She says that so much of her life has been spent caring for everyone else’s needs over the years that she has neglected her own.
She states that she feels as if she has lost sight of herself, adding that now she is at a crossroads in her life. The TLC star reveals that she feels it is now time for her to take control of her life. She says she feels a dire need to do the things that make her happy.

During the show, the reality star reveals that she is spending more time away from her home and family. The Welcome to Plathville mother adds that she is craving more space.
She admits she is aware that her husband Barry is having difficulty coming to terms with things. Barry Plath says he is being forced to take on the majority of the responsibility in the home now.

He also admits to trying to give his wife space and understanding. However, it is taking a toll on them. His wife states that she and Barry have had many conversations about her feelings and needs. But she feels he is not fully grasping the true meaning.
The Welcome to Plathville stars reveal that the first 25 years of their marriage were conventional. Barry’s role was the head of the house and Kim’s was wife and mother.

Kim also reveals that she feels very neglected in their marriage. She adds that she is unsure if Barry Plath will be able to accept the changes that need to be made.
During one scene, Barry is on the phone with his wife. He is asking if she will be home to make dinner. Barry appears annoyed during the conversation when Kim reveals she is having dinner out and a late meeting at the studio.
Later, she says she believes he is becoming resentful. Kim feels Barry is not happy with having to step up his responsibilities at home.
Is The Plath’s Marriage Doomed?
However, the Welcome to Plathville father admits to having to do more at the house and with the children than ever before. He also acknowledges never realizing just how much responsibility his wife has before now.
While she feels this is a step in the right direction, she is unsure if it is now enough for her. Fans feel that this could be the beginning to the end for Barry and Kim Plath.
They think that now that Kim sees there is more to life than marriage and family, she is not willing to go back to her old way of life. Do you believe the Plath parents will find a way to work through the changes? Or is it a separation in their immediate future?
