Welcome to Plathville: Ethan Plath Shares Feelings with Barry Plath
TLC viewers know that following Ethan’s return home to Cairo, Georgia, he reveals being shocked by his father’s call. Barry Plath tells his son he wants to meet with him to discuss some family matters.
He agrees to come to the Welcome to Plathville house. But only on one condition. He tells his dad, Barry, that he does not want to see his mom Kim Plath.
Ethan says he can tell there is something big happening with his family. When he arrives at the Plathville home, his dad confesses to his son that he has news to share. It is easy to tell from his face that he is bracing himself for what his dad is about to say. He appears nervous.
With no way to sugarcoat the news, Barry Plath jumps in to tell his son that he and his mom are separated. As his dad continues to detail the circumstances surrounding his split with Kim, he looks shocked.
However, Ethan tells him he understands because he has been there. He also tells his father that he never saw this coming. He adds it is the last thing he expected to hear during their discussion.

TLC’s Ethan Continues to Harbor Hard Feelings Towards His Mom Kim Plath
The TLC star takes some time to absorb the news. During his confessional, the Plathville sibling shares he is upset. However, after taking some time to process the information, the two finally talk. During the news, the Welcome to Plathville siblings, Micah Plath, Lydia Plath, and Isaac Plath, are also on hand.
Barry Plath and Ethan meet up again in the new preview clip for the July 12 episode of Welcome to Plathville. During their second conversation, he is more at ease speaking with Barry. He tells his dad he wants to thank him for not coming with Kim to Tallahassee for Moriah Plath’s show.
He admits to his dad he appreciates him honoring the boundaries set. Ethan and his dad are starting to rebuild their relationship. Barry looks very happy to be spending time with his son. He says that he knows his dad can admit to his mistakes. He feels he can trust him.
However, Welcome to Plathville‘s Ethan Plath firmly states that he does not trust his mom. He continues by saying that is always one of the biggest issues.
He says his mom never admits her mistakes and is too controlling. He adds he does not like the way she is constantly butting into relationships.
