Alana Thompson (Honey Boo Boo) got her start in stardom while appearing on Screen Junkies and then Toddlers & Tiaras. The pageant princess stole the hearts of viewers everywhere for her Southern sass and proud prancing. The show was cancelled, but the cameras continued to follow her. Landing a show focused entirely on her life, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo aired on TLC for 4 seasons. Then, she was featured on Dancing with the Stars: Juniors.
The entire world got to watch Alana Thompson grow up on the screen. Also, her family has shared in her success. Mother June Shannon (Mama June), father Mike Thompson (Sugar Bear), sister Lauryn Shannon (Pumpkin), sister Jessica Shannon and sister Anna Cardwell (Chickadee). After June and Mike divorced, Alana’s mother began dating Geno Doak. All of them appear on Mama June: From Not to Hot.
Like most young celebs, Alana Thompson has had her fair share of fame and family challenges. Her mother, June Shannon was arrested and slapped with drug related charges. As a result her sister, Lauryn Shannon (Pumpkin), has taken custody of Alana. They both are estranged from June and the drama gets very heated.
Alana Thompson still has not called it quits in front of the camera. The upcoming season of Mama June: Road to Redemption, will follow her mom trying to repair their relationship. She is a 15 year old high school student and already has her first boyfriend. It looks like we will get to see her teen years play out as well.
