On the next Mama June: From Not to Hot, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon announces to the family that June Shannon wants to go to rehab. Surely, everyone’s shocked but excited. Her sister, Joanne “Doe Doe” Shannon, hopes that she’s ready. Of course, Alana Thompson is ecstatic that her mom’s ready to get help. Besides that, Alana finds out she’s starting high school soon.
Remember, Alana didn’t know if she’d start eighth grade or ninth because she was home-schooled for two years. But, it turns out, Alana Thompson’s starting her freshman year of high school. So, she’s excited because this is a brand new start for both her and her mother. Hopefully, she will get her mama back in time to face the new school year. (In real life, we know it didn’t play out that way, though).
Something Goes Wrong – Pumpkin Shields Alana
Soon on Mama June: From Not to Hot, it looks like a problem comes up because Pumpkin is reluctant to give Alana important news. Alana Thompson wants an update on June, but there’s something her sister doesn’t want to tell her. And Pumpkin tells the rest of the family to keep it from Honey Boo Boo too.
Of course, she knows Alana Thompson’s nervous about school. She fears bullying. She thinks she may be targeted because of her weight and public status – and also because of what’s going on with June Shannon and Geno Doak. So, it looks like they hit another bump in the road, and Pumpkin tries to keep it from Alana on Mama June: From Not to Hot.

Alana Thompson finds herself in a bit of trouble soon. Apparently, she causes quite a stir in social media. Of course, Pumpkin is furious. She’s scared it’ll “blow up.” Then, the video above shows Alana in tears. Hopefully, this doesn’t cause trouble at school or slow Mama’s recovery. It’s the incident that went viral last year of Honey Boo Boo snorting artificial sweetener, and it looks like drugs (but isn’t).
