Survivor: Winners at War is almost here and there are some things you might wanna know before it begins, such as twists and tribes. It’s a season packed with former champion and things are going to be more intense than ever. Fire tokens and the Edge of Extinction will throw a wrench in their plans to win the two-million dollars and have ultimate bragging rights. Who will outwit, outplay, and outlast on Winners at War?
Survivor Season 40: CBS Brings Back Edge of Extinction Twist
If your favorite Winners at War contestant gets booted right away, don’t worry, because they can still come back. The franchise has brought back the titular twist from season 38’s Edge of Extinction. So, getting voted out at tribal council might not be the end for several Survivor contestants’ games.
But this twist hasn’t received positive feedback from some of the returners. Sandra Diaz-Twine said she wasn’t thrilled with the Edge of Extinction twist. Also, Kim Spradlin said that she would “rather go to jury” than Extinction Island.
There’s a rumor about one Survivor champion quitting from the deserted island. Could it be one of these two women?
Survivor 40: New Fire Tokens Can Buy Advantages
Jeff Probst announced a brand new twist called Fire Tokens that will debut on Survivor: Winners at War. Each of the 20 champions will be given one token to begin the game with. They can use them to buy food, supplies or an advantage in the game. Yet, eliminated castaways have to give their fire tokens to a still-active player.
But that doesn’t mean they cannot acquire more. Banished Survivor castaways can earn advantages that only work in the game. Then, they can barter with the still competing ones for their tokens in exchange for whatever advantage they have. The following is a slight Survivor spoiler: the skeleton idol in the preview appears to have fire tokens for eyes. This means a clever player might be able to remove and use them.
Winners at War: Sele & Dakal Tribes
The Winners at War are going to be separated into two different tribes. The Sele tribe members have blue buffs and the Dakal tribe has red ones. Boston Rob Mariano, Parvati Shallow, Michele Fitzgerald, Jeremy Collins, Natalie Anderson, Ethan Zohn, Danni Boatwright, Denise Stapley, Adam Klein, and Ben Driebergen will be Sele.
On the Dakal is Sandra Diaz-Twine, Amber Mariano, Kim Spradlin, Nick Wilson, Sophie Clarke, Tony Vlachos, Sarah Lacina, Wendell Holland, Yul Kwon, and Tyson Apostol. So, it will be interesting to see which groups form alliances and which become enemies.
Winners at War premieres tomorrow night at 8/7c on CBS.
