‘Sister Wives’: Meri Brown Pays a Price for Protecting Kody Brown
Sister Wives celeb Meri Brown is either vying for sainthood today or she has another agenda for her constant protection of Kody Brown. With the TLC series rolling out only a few episodes of a new season so far, it’s easy to see things haven’t changed for the Sister Wives original matriarch.
Sister Wives: Meri Just Keeps Taking It
Kody Brown treats Meri poorly and this isn’t just a rumor floating around out there. No, the Sister Wives viewers witnessed this for themselves. His treatment didn’t resemble a husband having a bad day and snapping out at his other half with generic complaints heard by wives for decades. Instead, he said horrible things that you just can’t take back.
He wished he never married the first Sister Wives bride. He said she manipulated him into marriage and the list goes on. Understandably Meri would get upset and cry. But the Sister Wives fans just can’t understand why she protects this husband of four.
Up until recently, Meri seemed to come out with the same reaction each time Kody disses her on the Sister Wives camera. Her lip quivered as she held back tears or she just cried. But recently Meri Brown’s attitude appeared to change. Starting around the time she professed her undying love for Kody Brown.
Mind Your Own Business?
For some reason, Meri decided to speak up after a very long time of headlines blaring she split with her Sister Wives’ husband. She offered a selfie with Kody Brown and said she loves this man.
Then she told her viewers she is staying and not going anywhere. Her words were almost like a reprimand and many people assumed Meri was asking them to mind their own business.
Meri Brown has a large Sister Wives fan base all her own. Many of their followers genuinely care about her. So, to see her take all the insults from Kody and then come out with how she loves him and she’s sticking around, well, they were mortified.
Viewers slammed Kody after the horrific therapist appointment where he let his disdain for Meri fly. But these same viewers see her as protecting the Sister Wives shared husband by doing so.
Sister Wives: Kody Brown Still On a Roll
So far, this season it looks like nothing changed between Kody and Meri Brown. He doesn’t live with her, which is another ditty he blurted out to the audience. His latest blurb during an interview is how he offers any of his wives freedom if they want it.
They can divorce him but because he’s the man in plural marriage, he cannot divorce one of his wives. According to him, this is the way it goes. He is stuck for life with his wives unless they go on their own. So basically, Kody told the followers of this TLC series that Meri is free to go, it’s her choice to stay.
Meri Brown is famous among the Sister Wives followers for her messages of inspiration. But no matter what she posts, some people believe she’s selling herself short. If she doesn’t feel the embarrassment of telling the world that she can’t make Kody love her, the fans feel it for her.
The Price She Pays?
Kody made it clear to the Sister Wives audience that he doesn’t want Meri as one of his wives anymore. He also said recently that he hasn’t been intimate with Meri for four or five years now.
Most spouses would cringe if their husband said a quarter of the things this Sister Wives husband said in public. But instead, she just seems to turn the other cheek and she protects him.
Meri Brown doesn’t sling things back at him, she just claims her love for Kody Brown. She laughs when he does something funny and seems to listen to his spiels even as the other women find him a broken record at times.
Once the comments piled up begging for her to leave him. But today some fans find it’s hard to respect what she’s doing. So some followers lose respect for Meri Brown who has come so far. For every other purpose, she looks like a strong and independent woman.
Meri Brown runs two successful businesses and she travels a lot on her own. She’s living a life she deserves but the Kody Brown thing, well no one can really put their finger on that one.
The price she pays is her self-respect even if she doesn’t know it. From where her audience sits on Sunday nights, they see that it appears at an all-time low. Or at least it should be after what she’s had thrown at her by her shared husband.
