‘Sister Wives’: Kody Spins New Motto – Old One Broken Ahead of Season 16?
Sister Wives celeb Kody Brown appears to spin a new motto as his old multiplying and dividing catchphrase turned into a real math problem. It looks as if he’s trying it out on some fans by using it several times in recent weeks.
It seems that sooner or later you can always count on Kody to offer pieces of Sister Wives history. Although it might not be intentional, it’s still coming from the horse’s mouth. So, along with his new adage, he offers examples of it from his own life.
Sister Wives: Kody Brown’s Motto – That Ship Sailed?
Fans of the reality series know Kody’s old motto by now. You know the one that sounds more like a math problem with his multiplying and not dividing love. He proudly spews that motto during the opening for each Sister Wives episode. That’s the battle cry of – “Love should be multiplied and not divided.”
Well, that was the mission statement of Sister Wives that he coined years ago. But most fans today would agree that this ship not only sailed, but it sunk. For today, or at least during the timeline of the last season, these Sister Wives’ spouses seem very divided.

So, it’s probably safe to say very little multiplication goes on behind Kody’s doors these days. And… if it does, it’s most likely very selective as the wives were close to an uprising as the last Sister Wives season came to a close.
TLC’s Kody Spins a Few Good Words
The patriarch of the Sister Wives family seems to have an updated motto today. In the last several weeks he said it numerous times. But his signature math problem didn’t pop up at all. So, what two words seem to be Kody Brown’s new motto? Drum roll please… “pursue excellence.”
Kody claims he taught his kids to do this and he attempts to do this every day himself. But the Sister Wives’ husband of four neglects to offer any details. He does not specifically define what the pursuit of excellence might look like to him or anyone else.

Maybe he’s not sure, as he recently told one fan to figure out what excellence means to them. So, it’s a personal interpretation, unlike the multiplication motto from seasons before. It sounds like it can be anything to anybody. At least this new Kody motto is painted with broader strokes. His last one was so precise that there was no hiding the Sister Wives failing math scores.
Sister Wives: Even Broader Strokes
It seems Kody points back to his 30s as a time when he didn’t pursue excellence as much as he should have. What that means for the Sister Wives’ father of 18 is anybody’s guess. But it looked like something changed in his life when he hit his 40s.
This Sister Wives’ husband was married to three of his wives during his 30s. Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, and Christine Brown were his only blushing brides back then. But Kody Brown was out of that decade when Robyn Brown came along. He was 41 and she was 31 when the two spiritually married.
So, did Robyn coming on board set him on the road for his never-ending pursuit of excellence? Who knows, but he also shares some little-known info about that decade with the Sister Wives fans. First, to get a feel for Kody around that time, check out the opening video for the series below.
Kody Brown recently shared how when was 38 he wrestled in the Cowboy State Games. Of course, he not only participated but he won (he just had to get that in). But he injured himself and it’s an injury he spent the rest of his life taking care of.
Did Kody See the Error of His Ways?
At 38, Kody Brown had a bunch of kids at home along with three wives. Yet, he must have spent a tremendous amount of time practicing for this huge Wyoming competition.
So maybe this is what he means by his 30s not being his best decade for going after excellence. Possibly he now knows that a man with three wives and close to a dozen kids needs to be around more. Well, only Kody Brown’s Sister Wives’ first three brides would know the answer to that one.
For now, it appears that Kody Brown prepares a new motto ahead of the next Sister Wives season. Either that or the words -“pursue excellence” became stuck in his head and he can’t stop repeating this catchphrase. Soap Dirt recently reported on other new happenings with the Brown family in the upcoming season.
Viewers don’t have much longer to wait Sister Wives Season 16 hits the TLC screen on Sunday, November 21 at 10 p.m. EST.
