Sister Wives: Kody Hurt His Daughters – Mykelti Tried to Protect Them
Sister Wives star Mykelti Brown Padron hoped to shield her sisters from something Kody Brown did on camera as the new season of the TLC series rolls along. Mykelti did one of her livestreams and talked about an event causing quite a stir among fans. Now we learn it caused an even bigger stir among Mykelti and her sisters.
Sister Wives: Mykelti Brown Padron Knew – But Her Sisters Didn’t
Mykelti Brown Padron said she knew that Kody Brown filmed these scenes. Although, her sisters didn’t. But she also knew they’d be hurtful for her siblings to see, mainly her sisters. So, for the sake of her sisters, she hoped the network wouldn’t air the clip. But it did and Kody’s actions left his daughters, including Mykelti Brown Padron, with hurt feelings.
Kody took Aurora Brown to get her ears pierced. This clip of Kody and his daughter Aurora did more than ruffle the fans’ feathers. The viewers were steaming over his attitude during this Sister Wives clip.
It hurt Mykelti because he never did this for her or his other daughters. So, of course, she hoped her sisters wouldn’t see this. She wanted to spare their feelings.
Once this aired Sunday night, her sisters were left feeling very hurt. They watched their Sister Wives father do this with Aurora. But they weren’t allowed to get their ears pierced until they were no longer under the roof of his house. Or in this case, the roofs of his four houses.
Kody Brown Gave the Okay – But Why?
Why would Kody Brown not only film this but then allow this clip to air on Sister Wives? After watching the final edit, he had to know this could be painful to his other daughters.
Mykelti Brown Padron has a theory about this. She suggests that Kody Brown is running low on real content to play out on the show.
So, maybe he thought this would be interesting. Especially because pierced ears are a big deal within the Mormon Church. They frown against it.
She said he probably wanted these scenes included because of the stand the church takes regarding pierced ears. But if that was Kody Brown’s mindset at the time, the fans’ comments seem to indicate it backfired immensely.
While watching this segment on Sister Wives, many fans thought he let the camera film this to get back at the kids who he thinks don’t respect him. But, if their religion is so against this, did Kody do this to throw it in the face of the church? Either way, it was probably not a nice message to the church if that was the case.
Sister Wives: Kody Hurt Mykelti as Well
Mykelti also said that the father-daughter outing between Kody and Aurora is not something she and her sisters have for a memory. They did very little father-daughter stuff with their dad.
Many fans thought the Sister Wives patriarch exaggerated in this clip. Fans think he blew up everything from his over-the-top glee to the pride he has in his daughter for the respect she shows him.
The viewers also suggested that Kody used this as a slap in the face to his other kids. Plus, he put Aurora in an awkward position with her other siblings by doing so.

You might understand all his gloating on Aurora if she was five. But she’s not. Aurora Brown turned 21 in April, so when this was filmed she was likely no younger than 18. Many fans found the entire clip “creepy” because they say Kody acted like he was on an outing with a preschooler.
But the bottom line is Mykelti Brown Padron is an insider from the Sister Wives family, and she said Kody Brown hurt the feelings of her sisters, who never had that one-on-one time with their famous dad from the TLC series.
