‘Sister Wives’: Kody Brown Far from Father of the Year in Awful Scene

Sister Wives star Kody Brown hit a new level of “awful” involving one of his teen daughters, which created a wave of pure fury for the fans. This season of the Sister Wives series seemed to expose a lot of what goes on with Kody Brown and his brood when the cameras shut down. Several of these unplugged scenes really seemed to taint Kody for a lot of the fans.

Sister Wives: Kody Brown Deemed Selfish

Sunday night’s Sister Wives episode shed a lot of light on Kody’s train of thought. He came right out and said how he sees his family as an “obstacle to his own goals”.  Janelle picked up on that immediately and said how that’s the most selfish thing she ever heard.

Kody Brown wanted a Sister Wives huge family and now he’s saying they get in his way. While Kody got some static for that selfish quip, most of the fury came after he sat down with Christine Brown and their daughter Ysabel Brown.

For five years Ysabel endured pain from scoliosis and now the curvature of her spine is at a point that indicates surgery. The teen is in constant pain, according to her Sister Wives mom, Christine. So, the surgery is scheduled and Kody wants to wait another six months.

The surgery entails an extended trip to New Jersey, where the doctor who will perform the surgery is located. The plan includes staying at Christine’s sister’s house while Ysabel remains in the hospital. What came next dropped jaws in the living rooms around the nation. Viewers just couldn’t believe what they were hearing coming out of the Sister Wives’ patriarch’s mouth.

Ysabel Brown In Heartbreaking Scene

Sister Wives fans claim Kody Brown has a skewed way of looking at things. His worry about Ysabel’s surgery has to do with exposure to the COVID-19 virus. He claims that while the surgery for Ysabel is important, keeping the rest of the brood from exposure is also important.

So, for the better of the Sister Wives family, Kody suggests that his daughter postpone the surgery for another six months. But Ysabel Brown’s constant pain won’t allow her to wait much longer.

This is major surgery and it starts with traveling across country for the teen. So what does Kody suggest next? He thinks maybe she should go alone. But the biggest surprise came from Christine, who seemed to ask Ysabel if that’s something she would do.

When Ysabel breaks down crying, Christine tells her she’d never send her alone. But this suggestion is already out there, made by her Sister Wives father.

Sister Wives: Fans Infuriated with Kody Brown

Kody Brown is taking care of himself so he won’t catch the COVID virus. That’s because he travels house to house and he doesn’t want to catch it and spread it through the Sister Wives tribe.

Ysabel, who is only 18, is likely fearful of this surgery in the first place. Now she’s hearing her Sister Wives parents sounding like they might send her by herself to go through this? Between Kody trying to get her to postpone and then giving her an option to go it all by herself, this young lady must feel she’s already alone in this.

Kody feels he has to do what’s best for the family. But when you are a family you all pull together and work out a plan when one member needs help. Ysabel needed to hear that both her parents would be with her through this surgery.

So Sister Wives followers don’t understand why all the co-wives and Kody didn’t just make that plan. Instead, Kody refused to go. This filmed months ago and in real-time Ysabel already had that surgery and is doing well. But Kody did not go, just Christine and a few of Ysabel’s siblings accompanied her through this trying trip.

Everyone Should Do What’s Best For Ysabel

Instead of staying behind, viewers thought the other wives and kids could buck up and help. For starters they should try to understood why Kody needs to go with Ysabel. Once home from the surgery he would need to quarantine two weeks before seeing the rest of the clan. So, what? Everyone should have been on board with that for Ysabel’s sake.

When all was said and done even Kody Brown finally realized that he shouldn’t have said what he said to his little girl. He confessed this to the Sister Wives camera. It was just awful, according to the Sister Wives followers. Christine Brown also used the word “awful” as well.

Hearts break across the Sister Wives audience for Ysabel after her father acted as if she was going on vacation instead of having major surgery to elevate her constant pain. It doesn’t look as if Kody Brown will be nominated for a father of the year award anytime soon, according to the followers of this TLS series.
