Return to Amish: Mary Schmucker Goes against Rule
Mary Schmucker didn’t live in the English world for long. After a few seasons of Return to Amish, she went back to her tight-knit community. She faced many challenges trying to get back into the church. She was even shunned for a while. But, Mary was able to get accepted back in. And, now, she is still Amish and doesn’t show any signs of going back to the outside world. The TLC celeb may have left her English ways for good. Yet, there is one item she kept.

The Return to Amish reality star seems to be breaking one Amish rule. Mama Mary Schmucker still owns a cellphone. People in the Amish community aren’t allowed to have cellphones. However, she won’t be giving it up any time soon and doesn’t see anything wrong with having one. She said, “do you do anything you’re not supposed to?” She also compared having a cellphone to speeding on the highway. People know they aren’t supposed to, but they do it anyway. The same goes with Mary having a cellphone.
How Does Mama Mary Make Money?
Mary Schmucker may be breaking the rules. But, the Return to Amish cast member has a good reason to. She uses her cellphone for business purposes. She has been selling her cookbooks online. And, in order for people to pay for them, Mary must have a cellphone. She collects the payments via a cash app. No phone means no money. Mary loves sharing recipes with others. She even plans to share tutorials for how she prepares some of her famous recipes.
However, selling cookbooks isn’t the only way Mama Mary Schmucker from Return to Amish makes her money. She also sells Tupperware. She enjoys selling food containers and has seen a lot of success from it. According to Mary, she recently got a manager position, and the promotion came with a bonus. She is hoping that in a couple of months, she will get another promotion. Her goal is to get a Tupperware car.
If Mama Mary Schmucker isn’t selling cookbooks or food containers, she is crocheting. The TLC star loves to crochet blankets. She also sells them. Mary said that she has so many orders for her blankets that she’ll be busy until September. However, she admitted that she doesn’t have much time to work on the blankets during the summer since there is always something for her to do.
Fans Miss Seeing Return to Amish Celeb on TV
Mary Schmucker did make an income while filming for the show. But, since she left, she has been making money other ways. However, fans do miss seeing Mary on the show. One person thought she “made the show” interesting. Another person said that they “miss seeing” Mary experience the English world. A person even thought that she was the mom figure for everyone in the cast. So, will she make a comeback to reality TV?
The Return to Amish TLC star has spoken about going back in front of the cameras. Mama Mary Schmucker states she feels that “money talks,” and if production wants her back and is willing to give her what she wants, she’d consider it. However, it seems like there is a good chance that she won’t be returning. Mary seems happy living life out of the spotlight.
