‘Return to Amish’: Kate Stoltz Gets Emotional After Family Reunion
Return to Amish star Kate Stoltz had an emotional reunion with her family. A few years ago, she left her Amish lifestyle for a fresh start in the English world. Since then, Kate hasn’t seen much of the people who live back in her hometown. But, she recently made an effort to be reunited with her mother on her birthday.
Return to Amish: Kate Stoltz Heads Back Home to See Family
Return to Amish viewers watched as Kate Stoltz left her tight-knit community to pursue her goals and dream career in the outside world. According to the TLC star, she doesn’t regret leaving for a second. But, she does miss her family often. However, Kate recently got to be reunited with them. She felt overwhelmed with gratitude to get the opportunity to go home and visit her family. Many people who leave the Amish are no longer welcomed home or are forced to cut ties with their relatives. Kate is happy that her family still allows her to come home to visit.

The Return to Amish reality star got to see her family after being apart for one and a half years. According to Kate Stoltz, the last time she saw her family was back in 2019 for Christmas. Since then, she only had limited contact with them. Kate had occasionally spoken to them over the phone or through letters. She found it “crazy” that many months have gone by.
Kate Cries after Seeing Mom and Grandmother
Kate Stoltz made the trip back home for a good reason. The Return to Amish former cast member wanted to surprise her mother for her 60th birthday. She thought it would be good to reach out to her sisters to plan the surprise visit. When the day came, Kate met up at her sister’s house and they headed over together. Her mother was shocked to see her children.
The Return to Amish TLC star wished she had a video of her mom’s reaction. But, Kate Stoltz was so happy to finally see her family that filming the reunion was the last thought on her mind. It was really nice for her to around her mother after so long.
Kate Stoltz also got to see her grandmother. The TLC star’s grandmother is 92-years-old and is “one of the most respected women” in her life. According to Kate, her grandmother has lost most of her sight and hearing. So, she feels that her grandmother looks “so sad and lonely” since she “often feels like she’s alone in the room.” Seeing her relatives made Kate realize how sad it is to see “the people you love get old.”
Return to Amish Celeb Realizes Importance of Family
Kate Stoltz was very emotional after leaving the family reunion. She said that she cried the whole way home and three hours later. She didn’t know how much she missed her family until she left again. Kate was happy that she got to visit everyone. However, seeing her grandmother was a bitter-sweet feeling. She said it was hard seeing her not doing so well. But, she was glad to be with her one more time.
The surprise visit made the Return to Amish celeb realize how important family is to her. It was a reminder for Kate Stoltz about what matters in life. She felt good being around people who are “genuinely kind.” She believes that no one keeps her grounded more than her family does. The day was really special for Kate. There’s a good chance she won’t let that much time pass by before she sees her family again.
