Daniel Miller has been spilling the tea about his time on the popular TLC show. He previously revealed that he had left his Amish community a few years before filming for the show. So, while on the show, he was faking it for entertainment purposes.

The Return to Amish reality star admitted that the show had paid him to act out leaving his strict community. He already knew a lot about the English world since he had lived in it for many years. Yet, he did think being on the show was a great experience.
Daniel has been living in the modern world since April 2017. He knew his Amish community wasn’t for him. So, he left and hasn’t looked back. He is now working on the road as a truck driver. It was a job he always dreamt of doing.
Daniel Claims Conversation with Parents Wasn’t for Show
Daniel even spoke about the production of the show. He revealed the conversation between Johnny Detweiler and the Bishop was actually between Johnny and him. He claimed to be the voice of the Bishop. But that isn’t the only secret he’s telling about the show.
The Return to Amish cast member recently revealed that the conversation between him and his parents about leaving the community wasn’t meant to be on the show. He even said it had nothing to do with the show. But he was wearing a microphone. So, he felt that the producers and editors used it to “appear for whatever they pleased.”
In the end, the conversation was used to show Daniel telling his parents that he was leaving the Amish. His mother and father were sad and mad during the conversation. Yet, his parents must have already known since he had already left.
The TLC celeb wants people to know that it was a TV show. He feels that people won’t have any luck finding a show that is “100% real.”
Return to Amish Celeb Closer to Family
Daniel Miller’s parents weren’t happy when they found out their son was leaving the Amish community. According to the TLC celeb, they tried to guilt trip him “in every way possible.” However, that didn’t hurt him. He loves his family. And he felt that with “God’s help,” he is getting closer to them.
The Return To Amish cast member said he was reenacting his story on the season. However, it was easier for him to tell his story on the show than when it actually happened six years ago.
Since leaving, he had a lot of adjusting to do while living in the English world. He felt that the “man-made rules and traditions” of the Amish had him “screwed up.” However, he is now a “born-again believer.” He believes that’s all he needs and wants.
