Whitney Thore gets an update on her mother Babs Thore‘s health on My Big Fat Fabulous Life. She is on the road to recovery. But will she get the help she needs?

My Big Fat Fabulous Life: Whitney Thore Sees Improvement in Babs Thore’s Health

Whitney Thore explains that within the five days after her mother’s stroke, she dealt with COVID and a UTI. It was the hardest week she has ever been through.

However, 15 days after her stroke, the My Big Fat Fabulous Life star played Babs Thore’s favorite music and saw movement from her. Her mother started to raise her arm.

According to Whitney, Babs was trying to snap her fingers. She also was rolling her shoulders, trying to get into the music. She felt like her mother was coming back and acting like herself again.

Whitney Thore is thankful that Babs Thore is starting to bounce back. The My Big Fat Fabulous Life celeb feels that it is “miraculous.” She was terrified that her mother wouldn’t come back from dealing with COVID.

So, she is glad that it was a mild case. It has been a long journey for the TLC celeb and her family. But it is only the beginning of Babs’ recovery.

Whitney Waits to Hear Babs’ Rehab News

Whitney Thore feels that her mother has seen major improvements. But Babs Thore still has her off days. She knows that her mom needs “formal help” to get better. And she believes the only way she will get that is in rehab. Yet, she has to get accepted into the program.

Whitney is aware that her mom may not be accepted into rehab. So, the My Big Fat Fabulous Life castmate and her family must have a backup plan.

However, they don’t have many options. Babs requires around-the-clock care, and they can’t do that alone. They would have to find a nursing home where she could get some sort of rehab and pay for it out of pocket.

Whitney fears her mother won’t make it if she doesn’t get into rehab. So, she hopes that they will accept her. But they have to wait a few more days to find out the outcome.

My Big Fat Fabulous Life Celeb Gets Good News

A few days later, Whitney Thore gets the call she has been waiting for from her father, Glenn Thore. He tells her that Babs Thore got the acceptance into the rehab facility.

He explains that the doctor looked at her charts and said she’s a good candidate. And, if everything goes well with the insurance, she could be there in the next couple of days.

Whitney is so happy to hear the good news. However, the My Big Fat Fabulous Life cast member knows there is still a long road ahead for Babs and her recovery.

But this is a huge steppingstone for her in the right direction. The rehab is suggesting she stay there for a month.
