My Big Fat Fabulous Life: Whitney Thore Gets Devastating Call about Mom’s Health

Whitney Thore gets a devastating call from her father, Glenn Thore, on the new season of My Big Fat Fabulous Life. He tells his daughter that her mother, Babs Thore, is in the hospital. She had suffered another stroke and is in the intensive care unit.

Whitney’s brother, Hunter Thore, had agreed to get Babs some lunch. He was only out of the house for less than an hour. When he got home, he saw his mother lying on the couch, unable to talk or move. So, he called 911, and she was taken to the hospital and told she had a stroke.

Babs Thore had suffered a stroke five years ago. It was difficult for Whitney Thore to see her mother in a hospital bed.

The My Big Fat Fabulous Life star wished it would have prepared her for what she is dealing with the second time. She explains that this stroke is different, and they don’t know her prognosis.

Babs Thore’s Health Takes a Bad Turn

Whitney Thore then finds out that her mother has COVID-19. She had tried her best to ensure her parents didn’t get sick from the virus.

But Babs Thore eventually got infected, and it wasn’t at a good time. However, she wasn’t the only one who got sick. Glenn Thore and Hunter Thore also tested positive.

Yet, Whitney didn’t test positive. So, the My Big Fat Fabulous Life cast member was the only one who was able to see Babs in the ICU. She wanted to spend every minute with her mother. However, she had to be careful not to get sick. Due to her weight getting the virus could be fatal.

After a few days in the ICU, Whitney’s mom’s health takes a turn for the worst. She finds out that Babs also has a urinary tract infection. The TLC celeb’s mom also isn’t eating. So, they had to put a feeding tube in her.

My Big Fat Fabulous Life Celeb’s Mom Sees Progress

Whitney Thore thought her mother’s health was getting better. She was told that if Babs Thore sees more progress, she will be able to go into a rehab facility and eventually go home.

However, a few days later, her health declines and Whitney is told to prepare for the worst. The hospital wants to know what her family plans to do next.

Yet, it looks like there is a light at the end of the tunnel for the Thore family on My Big Fat Fabulous Life. Whitney plays her mother’s favorite music and sees her arm move.

Babs starts to see an improvement in her health. She is able to walk and talk more. But will this be the end of Babs’ health problems — or could she suffer another stroke?
