‘My 600-lb Life’: Dr. Younan Nowzaradan Holds up Patient’s Stomach During Surgery [Pic]
My 600-lb Life star Dr. Younan Nowzaradan shows just how big a person who is dealing with a severe weight problem’s stomach can get. Fans drop their jaws at the stomach reveal.
My 600-lb Life: Dr. Younan Nowzaradan Makes a Difference
My 600-lb Life has Dr. Younan Nowzaradan doing something not many people in his profession would do. He is one of the best weight loss surgeons there is in America. Not only that, but he has a lot of his patients filmed through their weight loss journey. While the patients are being filmed, Dr. Now gives them the opportunity to get the expenses for their operation covered for free. That is only if they are able to prove to him that they can stick to a strict diet and continue losing weight after their surgery.
My favorite pastime:

To do that, patients are given a goal that can range anywhere from 20 to 80 pounds to lose before getting approved. Sometimes people can reach that goal and make their way to a healthy lifestyle. And other times, it takes multiple months to get down to where he asks them to, with a lot of people failing altogether. A lot of people who do make it have their surgery televised for the show. In fact, many people have undergone his program and succeeded.
TLC Star Has One Big Problem
My 600-lb Life’s Dr. Younan Nowzaradan starts off Season 10 of his show with a man named Nathan. He comes in at just over 600 pounds, and his life is at risk. The only thing that can help is Dr. Now’s weight loss program. Nathan has tried to get weight loss in the past, but like many overweight people who have to stay at home because of their size, he doesn’t have the money to pay the co-pay. Getting a surgery like this without the help of Dr. Now would cost him up to two-thousand dollars. Luckily he has those costs covered by TLC.
As Dr. Now makes known in every single episode of My 600-lb Life, getting weight loss surgery is not some magical solution. Many people from the show have to talk with Psychologists to really get to the root of their eating problem. However, it’s still up to them to fix the issue. Gastric sleeve and gastric bypass surgery will make a stomach smaller, as a result, the person feel less hungry. Less food in the stomach means the food will help lose weight. But it is possible to stretch a stomach back out after a surgery like this if one is not careful. For many, food is an addiction, and quitting is easier when the root of the problem is known.
My 600-lb Life: Show It All Dr. Younan Nowzaradan
Dr. Younan Nowzaradan from TLC’s My 600-lb Life shows fans just what they might be in for if they get to an unhealthy size. During a gastric sleeve surgery he does for Nathan Prater, he really gives fans a show. Usually, Dr. Now has his surgeries televised, but he really wants to get his point across this time. As a result, he holds up the 85 percent of the stomach that he removed from Nathan, and it’s almost as big as Dr. Now’s torso.
After a surgery like this, a person’s diet mainly consists of liquid. This is because if the stomach is stretched before it’s done healing, it could tear. Not only this, but the stomach could stretch back out. Soap Dirt knows just how much fans love Dr. Now and what he does for his patients. Season 10 starts tonight on TLC.
