She works hard with her daughter, who is also in the program, to lose enough to qualify for gastric bypass surgery. However, her journey wasn’t an immediate success, because of how many life-changing things she deal with while trying to slim down.
On My 600-lb Life, Charity Pierce reveals how her mother died. Also, she reveals her fiancé cheated on her with her sister, which caused her to spiral downward emotionally. Plus, she openly admits how upset she is about how her child has followed in her footsteps with food addiction and poor eating habits.

She manages to drop 100 under the intensive care of Dr. Now. Once dropping enough weight, she gets approved for gastric bypass surgery.

While the mother and daughter duo agreed to move back to their home state after losing, Dr. Nowzaradan wants them both to stay for skin removal surgery. However, his one condition about performing the operation is he wants both women to weigh under 200 pounds.
During the continuation of her weight loss plan, Charity from My 600-lb Life develops a drinking problem. Charly attempts to talk to her mother about her alcoholism, and how she needs to stop. But, Charly ends up moving away from her mom, because she realizes her mom isn’t going to change.
My 600-lb Life: New Devastating Setback for Charity
Charity from My 600-lb Life is facing another difficult setback in her journey. After learning that her mother passed away from brain cancer, Charity’s worried about having cancer herself. Recently, doctors confirmed Charity has cancer in her kidney, but it hasn’t spread to the rest of her body.
