‘Married At First Sight’: Ryan Sees Red – Recap
On Married At First Sight, Ryan Ignasiak sees both red hair and a big red flag when his new wife Brett admits she’s afraid to fly and freaks out on the plane. Johnny Lam admits to Bao Huong Hoang that when it comes to the bedroom he’s solid vanilla. Rachel Gordillo is a little put off when Jose San Miguel Jr. wants to brush her teeth. And Myrla Feria says she’s not high maintenance but Gil Cuero thinks otherwise. Fasten your seatbelt and let’s take a trip through Season 13 Episode 4, One Day Down, A Lifetime To Go.
Ryan Sees Red On Married At First Sight
After just one night of wedded or not so wedded bliss the couples will brunch with their in-laws separately. Ryan Ignasiak sweats through a brunch with Brett’s parents. When they ask what he thought when his MAFS bride was heading down the aisle towards him, he stumbled a bit. He says he saw red. All that red hair. And that he’s never dated a redhead before because they are either hot or not. He recovers a bit and says of course Brett is of the hot redhead variety.
It still made for some awkward talk over eggs and OJ on Married At First Sight. Ryan’s family suggest she’s not his type. Because he usually dates potatoes. Even though they are beautiful spuds they bring nothing to the table. They suggest Brett may have to pull him out of his shell a little. But they do think her personality is great. Later they discuss what was said. Brett says she thinks it will take time and they don’t need to rush anything. Ryan always looks as if he’s scouting an escape route.

The Families Weigh In After The Weddings
Getting to know in-laws is always awkward. But much more so when you just met your spouse yourself. The Married At First Sight couples find out at least some of the quirks of their newly minted spouses. Jose San Miguel Jr. is a tad worried when Rachel Gordillo’s mom suggests she can be a little messy. Rachel isn’t thrilled to hear that Jose is a saver who writes budgets on a dry erase board.
Bao Huong Hoang loves that Johnny Lam’s mom is so welcoming. Until his family puts the pressure on her to start having babies ASAP. Johnny learns that Bao was pretty upset over his sports-themed gift to his bride. He also finds out she can get into a bad mood often. Gil Cuero meets up with Myrla Feria’s brother and guy friends. They suggest he not make an issue of Myrla’s expensive tastes if he wants things to go smoothly.
Zach Freeman’s family is straight up with Michaela Clark that they are protective of him and will be watching. Michaela is grateful and touched that Zach’s dad danced with her at the wedding since her own father passed away. Zach gets kind of the same vibe from her family. They’ve always had her back and now it’s his turn. There weren’t any huge shockers from anyone but hey, the season is young.

The Honeymoon Is Just Starting On Married At First Sight
The couples have just figured out who snores and who doesn’t and it’s time to go on their honeymoon. Baskets arrive with husband and wife ball caps, masks and beach towels. The MAFS gang is headed to the Florida Keys. Brett has a major fear of flying. She freaks out on the plane and Ryan sees red again. This time in the form of a red flag. He admits if he knew this about a prospective date it would mean there would be no future. But for now at least he’s got no choice.
Myrla is completely unimpressed when the couples arrive to their honeymoon resort on Married At First Sight. She complains about the rooms, the pool and the view. And compares it to a Florida retirement home. Gil calls her high maintenance and she completely denies that she is. Michaela and Zach aren’t paying attention to the pool because they are very much into each other at this point and Zach says he’s a “happy man”.
Jose is concerned with dental hygiene and even offers to brush Rachel’s teeth for her. This puts a damper on things for Rachel and she hopes he’s just kidding. Bao tells Johnny that she loves the way he kisses. Even though there won’t be much else going on at least that first night. Johnny admits that he’s basic in the bedroom. And that he particular doesn’t expect to be let in through the back door. Bao breathes a sigh of relief and it’s time for bed. Till next time!
