‘Married at First Sight’: Mindy Shiben Talks Life Post-Zach in Exclusive Interview
Married at First Sight wife Mindy Shiben had a tough time with husband Zach Justice this season on the Lifetime show. So much so that they called it quits even before Decision Day. With all the drama that went down leading up to the end of their union, most MAFS fans want to know how the skating instructor is now. What did Mindy Shiben reveal in her exclusive interview with Soap Dirt?
Married at First Sight: Mindy Shiben Reveals What She Would Do Differently
Soap Dirt (SD): Given how things fell apart on camera on Married at First Sight, is there anything you’d do differently?
Mindy Shiben (MS): “A lot of what happened on camera was out of my control. I don’t regret putting my whole heart into this and I can walk away from this experience knowing I gave it everything I could. I’m proud of myself for how I handled the challenges I was faced with”.
Many viewers feel for Mindy Shiben. Especially with how things ended recently between her and Zach Justice on the Lifetime show. Mindy definitely shows up on MAFS. And, she was ready to do things like move in with her husband even after getting off to a rocky start on their honeymoon. Meanwhile, Zach Justice didn’t reciprocate on his end.
MAFS: Matchmaking to Blame for Zach Justice and Mindy?
SD: Do you think you’d have done better if the Married at First Sight experts matched you with someone else?
Mindy Shiben: “I’ve thought about this a lot! I don’t think I got the full experience because my match simply wasn’t present in our marriage. When I look at previous Married at First Sight couples that are doing so well, I wonder where I’d be now if I got matched with someone else. I think I can be a wonderful partner to someone that is ready for commitment”.
Married at First Sight fans are sympathetic when it comes to Mindy Shiben. And, a lot of viewers feel she got the short end of the stick with how everything went down. Some followers even call for her to be on another season. She certainly put herself out there. And, that effort seems one-sided based on the footage MAFS production filmed.
Mindy Shiben Thankful for Support from Married at First Sight Followers
SD: What’s the biggest thing you want Married at First Sight viewers to know after everything that went down?
Mindy: “I’m so grateful to have the support of so many viewers and I’m beyond touched by so many kind messages I’ve received. I want to assure the viewers that I am doing very well and this experience has only made me stronger”.
On just about every season of MAFS, there’s always a marriage hopeful that gets a match worse than others in terms of compatibility. There’s usually at least one match that looks good on paper but crumbles once issues arise. Viewers saw this with Amber Bowles and Matt Gwynne – along with Kate Sisk and Luke Cuccurullo from recent seasons.
And, it seems Mindy Shiben fits that role this season on Married at First Sight in terms of dealing with a difficult spouse. But, even though Mindy’s journey didn’t end in a happily ever after, she is a stronger person following this experience. And, many MAFS watchers look forward to what’s next for her.
