Mama June: Road to Redemption’s Sugar Bear Gets Scary Medical Diagnosis
Sugar Bear was recently in Beverly Hills seeing a Dr. Babak Moein. Dr. Moein is a top Beverly Hills cosmetic and weight loss surgeon. The Mama June: Road to Redemption star did not reveal any information on his post. He shares the photo from inside the doctor’s office and writes, “Stay Tuned.”
Thompson’s post left fans wondering why Mama June Shannon’s ex was consulting with a cosmetic surgeon. June Shannon and Mike Thompson met in 2004 in an online chat room.
After only a few hours of online chatting, June Shannon invited Sugar Bear to her home. One year later, Mama June and Sugar welcome the arrival of their daughter Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson.
The reality couple became engaged in 2012. In 2013 Mama June fans watched as she and Sugar Bear pledged their love in a commitment ceremony. However, one year later, the couple called it quits after June accused Sugar Bear of cheating.
Thompson moved quickly on and married Jennifer Lamb. Once again, Thompson’s relationship failed. In 2021, the couple revealed they were divorcing due to more of Thompson’s cheating allegations.
Early this year, Thompson revealed that he was inspired to make the changes following his divorce from Jennifer Lamb.
He claims that he feels the changes are needed to help boost his confidence. He also wants to appear more attractive to future suitors. But, with this health setback, Sugar Bear is left feeling devastated.

Mike Thompson reveals that the dentist made a frightening discovery. Dr. Tania Farshi found something more concerning than just Sugar Bear Thompson’s poor dental hygiene. The dentist became very alarmed when seeing signs of gum cancer on his lower jaw.
The dentist told the 50-year-old Thompson that the white spots on his gums were concerning and referred him to a cancer specialist. In addition, Dr. Farshi explained to the reality star that Thompson’s chewing tobacco habit may have caused more damage than first believed.
Mike Thompson Left Devastated
For the time being, Thompson is putting his dental reconstruction on hold and is seeing a cancer specialist. However, Thompson’s excitement about his transformation has quickly turned into alarm. Sugar Bear hoped to finish his procedures in Los Angeles before making the big reveal to his fans.
