‘Mama June: Road to Redemption’ — Pumpkin Shannon Faces Major Crisis — New Season Update

Fans can expect explosive drama in Season 6. New episodes find Pumpkin Shannon with a lot on her plate. When mama spiraled out of control, Pumpkin took over as the head of the family.

She became a mother figure to her little sister Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson. Plus, of course, she has her little girl Ella Grace Efird and her new addition Bentley Jameson Efird. And on top of that, Pumpkin’s sister Jessica Shannon is living with her also.

So, the reality star has a full house with a new baby — and it’s not easy. She’s stressed out and feeling the pressure, especially with Alana growing up. The fan fave is getting older. And it comes with a whole new set of struggles.

Alana is trying to juggle her junior year of high school along with family responsibilities. Plus, she has a new boyfriend, Dralin Carswell. So, of course, Pumpkin and hubby Josh Efird are on high alert.

This season, on Mama June: Road to Redemption, Josh embarrasses Alana when he lays down the law with Dralin. And, to top it all off, Mama brings tons of new drama that puts a major strain on her kids.

June Shannon Causes Drama

In Season 6, Mama shocks Pumpkin when she tries to take over as Alana’s mother. Pumpkin says she’s Alana’s mother now. And, of course, Mama flips out.

Alana is in a good place in her life, and she has stability with her big sister. Plus, Mama’s not proving that she’s changed her ways in new installments of Mama June: Road to Redemption.

Thankfully, she’s still clean and just celebrated two years of sobriety. However, Mama is no longer with her longtime boyfriend, Geno Doak. And she’s afraid of what he might do. So, there’s possible danger there.

Also, Mama’s still making sketchy choices. Pumpkin and her sisters are unhappy with Mama’s new boyfriend — more specifically, her taste in men. Mama is over the moon for her new man Justin Stroud on Mama June: Road to Redemption.

But, apparently, she’s spending a boatload of cash on him, and it’s making headlines. Plus, it looks like she makes a spectacle of herself at an airport. And that sends her family over the edge. However, what scares Pumpkin the most is that there’s a chance she could lose Alana for good…

Fight for Alana Kicks off on WEtv

Now-sober Mama plans to fight for sole custody of Alana in Season 6. But, her daughter won’t go down without a fight. So, Josh suggests that she take Mama to court in new episodes of Mama June: Road to Redemption. 

She agrees and sits down with a lawyer. Furthermore, Josh wants his wife to cut her mother out of their lives once and for all. They just got Mama back. But if it means losing Alana, she might try to take her mom down with everything she’s got.
