Mama’s fans know her past with Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson was rough. Of course, there were some good times. She was never legally married to him.

But they pledged their lives to each other in a commitment ceremony. And they share a daughter, Alana Thompson (aka Honey Boo Boo).

Then things got rocky when she found out he had several dating website profiles. And they went their separate ways in 2014. Since then, Sugar Bear has admitted to cheating on her.

Also, the Mama June: Family Crisis celebrity said he was abusive. They’ve both since moved on. He is married to Jennifer Lamb. And she went on to form a relationship with Geno Doak. And that’s when things went downhill…

Mama’s fanbase knows that things took a turn for the worst once she started dating Geno. They got serious in 2016, and not long after, it became clear that they both had a severe drug problem. Once she got heavily addicted to drugs, she lost everything.

She lost her relationships with her daughters, as viewers will recall. Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon Efird cut Mama off. As did her oldest, Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell, and Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon. Of course, Alana was the youngest.

So, she was still living with Mama until Pumpkin took over custody. Then she went off the rails. She and Geno went missing for a while and spent all their money on drugs, and we’re on the run from the law.

There was a chance that the Mama June: Family Crisis fan-fave could go to prison, but thankfully, that was not the case. Geno, on the other hand, wasn’t so lucky. He did a stint in prison but looked much better since getting out.

Of course, Mama takes responsibility for her actions. But her ex played a part in her drug abuse. Since she left him in 2021, she’s been happier than ever. Mainly due to her sober lifestyle. But also because of her husband, Justin Stroud.

Mama’s Married to Justin Stroud – Will This Relationship Last?

Currently, Mama is living her best life. And soon, she will share her most recent journey with fans in the new season of Mama June: Family Crisis. The show premieres on May 5, 2023, and there’s much to see, including her and Justin Stroud’s glamorous wedding in Panama City, Florida.

Of course, many fans will recall that she quietly tied the knot with Justin in a courthouse in March of 2022. But they wanted to include their family, so they planned an intimate but gorgeous ceremony. And watchers will get to see it for themselves this season.

Perhaps the best thing is seeing Mama with all four of her girls and grandchildren. The whole family was together, and Mama seemed to be in a great place with her kids. They genuinely seem happy for her and Justin.

And Justin seems to be great for her. Justin loves and supports her, and they’re in a happy and healthy relationship. But, most importantly, Justin appears to get the stamp of approval from her children.

Indeed, Justin Stroud appears to be the best match for Mama. She is healthy and thriving on Mama June: Family Crisis. Of course, every couple has its challenges. But it looks like she and Justin will stand the test of time.
