‘Mama June: Family Crisis’ – June Shannon Health Crisis Raises Suspicions
The new season of Mama June: Family Crisis got off to a dramatic start, as the June Shannon family looks to be dealing with an overload of chaos this season. There is still a lot of tension in the family. Justine Stroud and Mama June plan on working their way into her daughters’ good graces. They have a lot to prove, especially June. But, now it looks like recent developments could delay all her plans.
Mama June: Family Crisis – June Shannon’s Medical Issues Send Her To The Hospital
During the first episode of this season’s Mama June: Family Crisis the WEtv reality mom found herself back in the hospital facing some scary health issues. Justin Stroud, her husband rushed her to the emergency room when she began suffering from debilitating headaches and dizziness. She was admitted to the hospital to undergo a series of scans and tests to determine what is causes the reality television star so much pain.
Justin stayed by his wife’s side throughout her hospital stay. The spouses were trying to figure out what was causing all of her pain. During her stay, she received a call from her daughter Lauryn (Pumpkin) Efird. She called to find out why she had yet to receive her mother’s child support check for her younger sister Alana (Honey Boo Boo) Thompson.
Despite their concern neither called to inform any of her daughters about her medical emergency. Pumpkin finds this very strange.
WEtv Mom’s Delinquent Payments Send Pumpkin Into A Panic
Pumpkin of Mama June: Family Crisis and her husband Josh Efird are experiencing major financial problems. They care for their four children, Ella Efird, Bentley Efird, and twins, Sylus Efird and Stella Efird as well as her younger sister Alana. Money is tight, and when her $800 child support check fails to arrive on time Pumpkin panics.
She says she and Josh have been juggling bills and credit cards to stay afloat. Not only are they struggling to make ends meet, but it is also Alana’s senior year of high school, and with that comes a lot of added expenses. So, she was unhappy when the child support check did not arrive.
So she calls June to find out what is going on. She also lets her know that the payment is late, and the money is needed. But when she answers the phone she tells Pumpkin she is in the hospital. The Family Crisis star is upset her daughter did not appear concerned about her.
When Pumpkin asks her what the problem is, she says she doesn’t know. But the headaches and dizziness are very similar to the seizures she experienced a couple of years ago. As soon as Pumpkin hears this the radar in her head is set off. She bluntly tells her mom that it sounds like the same issues she experienced when using drugs.
Mama June’s Family’s Suspicions Mount Due To Her Failing Health
June takes offense to her daughter Lauryn’s accusations and says she is clean. She swears she hasn’t used drugs in three years. However, Pumpkin can’t help but feel her mother is lying. The Family Crisis daughters have heard it all before. They know the lies and stunts their mother is capable of when using drugs.

Despite her suspicious feelings, Pumpkin tells her mom she hopes she feels better soon, but not without a stern warning. She tells her that she had better not lie to her again. Pumpkin is not playing around this time. She warns her mom that if she finds out she has been using drugs again, it is over. She is not willing to and won’t put herself, or any of her sisters through that type of drama with her again.
The more Lauryn thinks about things the more suspicious she becomes. She has found out that her mom and Justin are keeping more secrets from the family. For instance, moving to Alabama without telling anyone. She tells Justin she feels hurt when she hangs up the phone with her daughter.
Her daughters are not going eager to believe what their Mama June: Family Crisis mom tells them. They have been burned before. But, she is also about to find out that her daughters are not the only ones to think her health issues are suspicious. Justin’s mom also believes that she is using drugs again. This could add even more stress to June Shannon and Justin Stroud’s new marriage.
