‘Mama June: Family Crisis’ – Pumpkin Rages at June & Puts her Foot Down
Mama June: Family Crisis star Lauryn (Pumpkin) Efird has had enough of Mama June Shannon and she is letting her know exactly how she feels. She is tired of her believing the world revolves around her, and everyone should drop what they are doing to pay attention to her. So when Pumpkin finds out from Justin’s mom about their wedding plans she is furious.
Mama June: Lauryn Efird Is Fed Up with June Shannon
Lauryn (Pumpkin) Efird is furious when she finds out that her Mama June: Family Crisis star mom, is planning a fancy wedding to Justin Stroud. This is the first she is hearing anything about this, and it is not from her mother. So she calls her mom and lashes out at her.
First, she wants to know why she is planning a wedding when she is already married. Next, she wants to know why she hears about it from Justin’s mom Rexanna Stroud instead of her.
She starts one of her spiels telling her daughter she wants a wedding and needs everyone there. But she is not buying her mother’s lines. She asks her if this is one of her attention-grabbing, “money pits.” Her mom denies it and tells her, that she is doing it all on a budget.
WEtv viewers know that earlier this season the couple were talking about their wedding. and she told Justin she wanted to go all out with “all the bling.” She next calls her mom out telling her, “You don’t ever have a f**king budget. Let’s be real, except when it comes to taking care of Alana.”
How Much Did Mama June’s WEtv Wedding Really Cost?
Money remains a touchy issue between the cast members. Pumpkin, who has full custody of her younger sister Alana (Honey Boo Boo) Thompson is furious that she would spend thousands on another wedding when she is so stingy otherwise.
She is angry because their mother only pays $800 per month in child support for Alana. She feels it is not enough to cover all of her sister’s needs. So, it puts a lot of financial pressure on her and her husband Josh Efird to cover the difference. With four children of their own to raise it becomes quite costly.
So what kind of money did the WEtv celebrity spend on her wedding? She says she covered the entire wedding, dresses, flowers, ceremony, food, and more for $13,000.
However, according to the wedding planning website The Knot, the average cost for a stateside wedding similar to the couple’s is estimated at $30K.
So, it seems that either she is very skilled at staying within a budget, or her figures are off by double. Either way, her daughter feels she could have put that money to better and more practical use.
Family Crisis: Pumpkin Is Sick of Her Mom’s Lies
Lauryn Efird is so sick of her selfish attitude and lies. She tells her mom that she will not attend her bridal shower. When she asks why her daughter snaps and told her “Because I have five kids to f**king raise and one of them is yours.”
She continues to try and convince her to attend. She tells her Pumpkin that she could bring the kids. But she is not having it. During her confessional, Lauryn informs the WEtv camera that she is sick of her mom’s lies.
“She thinks she can convince people she is the best mom out there, and she is all about fixing her relationships. But, I’m gonna tell you what. Justin’s family will find out real soon when I don’t show up to that bridal shower.”
When Mama June Shannon asks if Alana can attend the shower with her sister Doe Doe Shannon. Efird tells her Mama June: Family Crisis, mother, that will be up to her.
But whether or not Lauryn Shannon Efird chooses to skip the bridal shower or not, there are still many issues to address between all of the women in order to repair their broken family. Sadly, even then many fans believe things will likely never be the same between them.
