Kody Brown Jealousy Fueled Some Bizarre ‘Sister Wives’ Events

The jealousy over Kody Brown surfaces during Sister Wives: One on One along with thoughts on the damage it caused. While the spouses admitted to some jealousy in the past, it sounds like they downplayed it.

That is until now. It’s revealed the undercurrent of jealousy was always there. Some of the ways it played out proved dangerous to the family dynamics.

Spouses Vying for Kody Brown

Christine Brown offers an overview of jealousy in the One on One Part 2 episode. In past seasons, Kody’s wives claimed they prided themselves on keeping their envy in check.

They realized this emotion surfaced but they did their best to work through those times. Although, some Sister Wives viewers thought that one or two of the wives learned to use jealousy as payback.

Early on, Janelle Brown, Christine Brown, and Meri Brown didn’t get along. They lived under one roof but there was a lot of animosity between them. A piece of that had to do with jealousy over their shared husband.

Some fans surmised that Robyn Brown was Meri’s answer to that. Meri and Kody Brown blindsided the other two spouses by bringing Robyn up for the first time. Kody and wife #1 made plans. So, without telling the other two, they eyed Robyn as Kody’s fourth wife.

The Dawning of the Green-Eyed Sister Wives Monster

Strained dynamics were alive and well between the original Sister Wives before Robyn. And Janelle felt like she was an intruder when stepping into Meri’s marriage with Kody. But she wasn’t much of a romantic rival, according to his first bride.

Then when Christine came along, she gave Meri a run for her money. She was a rival in the romance department. Christine craved intimacy with the man she loved right from the beginning. This was hard on wife number one.

So, Kody Brown and his spouses penned a book. In their writings, they offered some details. The second and third brides reported that Meri made life miserable. Kody Brown touches on the “pecking order” of his wives on Sister Wives: One on One.

Because she was first, Meri filled the top wife position. But her co-wives had some hard times with her back then. Despite the friction, the matriarch and patriarch pondered bringing Robyn on board. But the other two spouses weren’t privy to this right away.

Jealousy Amps up over Kody

Robyn Brown met the family but the welcome wagon wasn’t warm. Kody’s spouses, other than the first one, didn’t take kindly to a fourth wife joining them.

Some viewers surmised this was Meri’s way of getting back at them. She made friends with Robyn. So, here comes this young, thin, pretty woman about to become the next Sister Wives.

Some think Meri evened up the sides, as Robyn liked her and they became close even before the marriage. Others suggested Meri used adding a fourth spouse as a payback to her long-time co-wives. By this time, the other three had been with Kody a decade and a half.

Any way you look at it, Robyn Brown was a source of jealousy. In a twist of fate, even Meri felt the green monster. That happened while Kody Brown honeymooned with wife #4. But, when Christine talks about jealousy in Tell-All Part 2, you’ll know it was there from the start.
