Whitney Thore’s Brother Arrested & She Couldn’t be Prouder – ‘My Big Fat Fabulous Life’ News

My Big Fat Fabulous Life star Whitney Thore is close to her brother Hunter Thore — and recently showed off his arrest photo saying she was proud of him. But why would the TLC star celebrate seeing her brother in handcuffs?

My Big Fat Fabulous Life: Whitney Thore & Hunter Thore Enjoy Screen Time

Whitney Thore and her big brother, Hunter Thore, both seem quite comfortable in front of cameras as they tape the TLC reality show. You may recall that Whitney initially majored in theatre at Appalachia State college.

Later she changed majors to Communications and Public Relations. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Journalism. She’s never been shy about performing and was active in dance way before her PCOS piled on the pounds.

But what you might know is the background of her brother Hunter outside of My Big Fat Fabulous Life. He was living in New York City to pursue acting opportunities. And on the most recent season of MBFFL, he was moving.

Then, he discussed his plans to relocate to Atlanta, Georgia, where there’s a thriving film and TV industry, to get more opportunities. But their mom, Babs Thore, suffered a stroke and that interfered with his plans.

In the end, Hunter Thore made his move, but he’s also pursued other opportunities in New York City, where he has ties to the film/TV community there.

Whitney’s brother trained at The William Esper Studio, The Freeman Studio, Terry Knickerbocker Studio, and the in-STUDIO program. It’s clear this is his calling and vocation. And it’s in this line of work that he was recently arrested.

MBFFL’s Whitney Cheers Big Brother’s Arrest

This weekend, My Big Fat Fabulous Life diva Whitney Thore was proud to show off photos of Hunter Thore’s recent arrest. But it was on a TV show, not in real life.

We’d guess she’d be less pleased if he were busted by the real police. It turns out Hunter scored a juicy one-episode role on the CBS hit series Blue Bloods, which stars Tom Selleck and Donny Wahlberg.

On Blue Bloods, Season 13, Episode 9, Nothing Sacred, Hunter played Wayne, whom he describes as “White Trash Lo-Life.” That guy and his partner-in-crime/girlfriend were stealing dogs.

Eventually, tough lady cop Eddie Janko (Vanessa Ray) tracks them down and busts them. The MBFFL cast member looks drastically different than he does on TLC. The makeup and hair department tricked him out nicely.

He got a mullet and flannel shirt to complete the low-life look of this dognapper. The brother on My Big Fat Fabulous Life headed North for this acting opportunity as Blue Bloods tapes in New York.

My Big Fat Fabulous Life Update: Whitney Says Babs Would Be Proud of Hunter

Whitney showed off a photo of Hunter from the CBS primetime drama and said “so cool watching my brother on Blue Bloods! Proud of you, Hunter Thore. I know Mommy is too!”

In case you missed it, their mother, Babs Thore, passed away on December 7, 2022. She had an untreatable progressive condition called cerebral amyloid angiopathy that causes dementia, seizures and brain bleeds.

Whitney Thore said that’s what caused her mother’s recurring hemorrhagic strokes. Babs first stroke was in 2017 and Hunter was the one to find their mom after two of her three strokes.

My Big Fat Fabulous Life fans were stunned and saddened to learn their beloved mom died. But Whitney’s correct — their mother would have cheered to see Hunter on the hit prime-time show.

Hunter also revealed a huge career achievement. He said he landed “the lead role in a feature film” and promised more details on that project later.

Lately, Whitney’s spent time with her widower father, Glenn Thore, to keep him busy after losing his wife Babs. And Hunter Thore’s keeping busy with acting work. And his recent “arrest” on the CBS cop show was a nice credit for his resume.
