Despite this scare, Billy was back on the mountain before too long but his health was impaired. He suffered lung issues and a seizure disorder. After his most recent hospitalization, his wife Ami Brown told the kids he wouldn’t recover from his illness.

Billy tried to resume life as normal, despite doctors warning him that the thin air up on the mountain wasn’t good for his health. Then, on February 7, 2021, Billy suffered a fatal seizure while filming Alaskan Bush People Season 13. His cause of death was a seizure, but that was after ill health plagued him for years.

Is TLC Star Ami Brown Still Dying Too?

Another ABP star in dire health was Billy’s wife Ami Brown. You’ll recall the family relocated from Alaska to California after her Stage 3 lung cancer diagnosis. Her prognosis was grim with odds against her survival — just 3%.

The Alaskan Bush People were stunned when her doctors told them that Ami was cancer-free after the rigorous treatments. They left her weighing less than 80 pounds, but wiped out her cancer. She still requires quarterly cancer screenings but so far, remains in good health.
