‘Sister Wives’ Failed Polygamist Kody Brown’s ‘Expert’ Relationship Advice Enrages Fans
Sister Wives ex-husband Kody Brown recently shared his “expertise” on relationships that enraged fans. This comes months after his splits from Christine Brown, Janelle Brown, and Meri Brown.
Despite admitting he’s a failed polygamist, the 54-year-old husband of only Robyn Brown offered some tips to fans and even encouraged the idea of polygamy. See if you agree with what Kody said…
Sister Wives Fans Mock Kody Brown as an “Expert” on Many Things
If you ask longtime watchers of this TLC series about Kody Brown’s expertise in life, the answers vary. And most of them are unflattering. As you can see in some of the tweets below, they consider him an expert on some very interesting (and controversial) topics.
One is gaslighting. In the last two seasons of Sister Wives, as Christine Brown finally left a deeply unsatisfying marriage, he played the victim card. Do you recall the dramatic scene where he raged that he “sacrificed” so much to love her?
She didn’t buy it and neither did fans. They seemed to rally behind her and Janelle Brown as they walked out on Kody. And when Meri Brown followed months later, you could note the jubilation among fans.

Janelle dear walk away now.
Kody is singing the breakup song. He is an expert gaslighter.

Now, in a recent video, Kody Brown admitted he’s a monogamist with his fourth wife (and now only wife) Robyn Brown. Although he qualified that with the word “basically”. How can you be basically monogamous?
Is that like being basically a vegetarian except for occasionally diving into a steak? It’s definitely strange wording for the Sister Wives ex-husband of three to use. Was it just a weird word choice in the moment or did it mean something more?
A fan commented that they thought he and Robyn Brown had been monogamous since they married. Also, Kody said their monogamy “seems obvious” in the new season of their TLC show which debuts September 2023.
No More Brides or Sister Wives
In recent videos made for Cameo, it was Kody’s insight on relationships that really had fans buzzing. When asked about the possibility of more spouses in his future, he said, “I won’t be having any more wives.”
That doesn’t bode well for longtime fans of the series. It seems like you need Sister Wives in your life to keep a show with that brand name airing, right? So, is he admitting defeat not only failing as a polygamist but also as a reality star?
In the same videos, interestingly, he encouraged the idea of polygamy. He advised the pair that have just hit their one-year anniversary that “you guys could always be in plural marriage.” He added she’d need to “talk her man into that”.
Man, Kody is just an expert on everything hunh?
Well, as we learned this season, an expert on everything but satisfying a woman.#SisterWives

But despite encouraging plural marriage, he hastily amended his expert advice. Kody said, “I’m not sure that’s a good idea.” Then he reversed course saying “I don’t have any recommendations on that” despite dispensing that advice moments before…
Kody Brown Says TLC Airs a “Caricature” of Him
In the video made for fans, Kody Brown revealed that what we see on TV is not how he sees himself. He said watching the show on TLC, “What I see is a caricature of myself — it doesn’t feel like it’s really me”.
However many fans take what they see on the show as fact. Admittedly, filming for weeks and distilling it down into a few hours of Sister Wives episodes means things will be edited for drama.
But if the dramatic material wasn’t there to start with, they’d have nothing to film. Imagine if his four marriages were happy and fulfilling for all parties involved. But given that three wives left him in the span of a year, that is a clear sign of problems.

You can check out several of the comments on the recent videos above. One called it “dysfunctional… marital advice from Kody Brown.” And another rolled their eyes at the very idea anyone wanted marriage advice from Kody.
One Sister Wives fan also addressed his caricature remark. They said that outlook “explains how he justifies and lives with his toxic behavior… denial.”
And when he gave a tip about trying new things on a special date night with your spouse, that triggered another viewer. That person noted, “Did Kootie just give the exact advice he should have followed in his 3 failed marriages?”
What do you think of Kody Brown’s advice? Do you see him as a caricature or just a victim of editing? And most importantly, would you take marriage advice from him?
