‘Doubling Down with the Derricos’: Meet Karen and Deon and Their Larger than Life Family

Doubling Down with the Derricos will introduce TLC viewers to Karen Derrico and Deon Derrico. The couple is the proud parents of 11 children and is expecting triplets. So that takes their family of 13 to a family of 16. No doubt with a family this large there’s constant hustle and bustle.

So viewers will see a large family packed with even larger personalities. Of course with multiple sets of multiples in the family already, Karen and Deon certainly know what’s ahead for them. Here’s a little about what we know about TLC’s latest large family.

Doubling Down with the Derricos: Karen & Deon Derrico Always Wanted A Large Family

Doubling Down with the Derricos stars Deon Derrico and his wife Karen knew they wanted a big family. However, they never dreamed they would have a family like the one they have now. The Las Vegas couple has had four different sets of multiple children back to back. What makes this even more unique is that no fertility drugs were used. So all 14 of their children were naturally conceived.

So, the Doubling Down with the Derrico couple has 11 children ranging in ages 2-14.  When the triplets arrive that will take them up to 14 little ones. Both Karen and her spouse Deon have a family history of multiples. So they kind of knew they would likely have at least one set either of twins or triplets.

Six Pregnancies and 14 Children Later

Doubling Down with the Derricos mom Karen Derrico conceived all her children without the aid of fertility drugs. Her first two children were singular births. So she and Deon thought they were in the all-clear on being hit with any multiples. That all changed when Karen’s next 4 pregnancies were multiples. Now the family consists of quintuplets, triplets, and two sets of twins.

When we first meet the Doubling Down with the Derricos family, Karen is 24 weeks pregnant and out in the hospital on bed rest for the duration of her pregnancy. So Deon’s left to run the busy Derrico household solo. He quickly realizes that taking care of all his kids is not “like a job” — it is a job!
