‘Doc Martin’: Season 10 Debuts on Acorn or Stream It Now

Doc Martin is back with Martin Clues as Dr. Ellingham, who is still navigating all his old idiocies. The doc returns as well as the rest of the cast, which is made up of odd but loveable characters. He remains busy as a husband and soon a father of two.

But he second-guesses his decision to leave his profession behind. So, it looks like Portwenn gets Doc Martin back as their GP.

Doc Martin: Martin Ellingham Nurtures Baby and Clocks

When we left the doctor last season, he gave up his practice. When Season 10 kicks off, his wife, Louisa Glasson Ellingham (Caroline Catz) utilizes Martin’s old office for her child counseling practice.

This leaves Doc Martin with much of the household duties. As Louisa’s career takes off, Martin finds himself not as happy as he thought he would be.

Plus devoting his time to tinkering with clocks doesn’t do it for him. Once the doctor’s office is commandeered by his wife, the kitchen table is his new space.

It doesn’t take long for him to question his decision to give up on his medical practice. So, despite his lingering fear of blood, it looks like Martin becomes the village GP once again.

It Takes a Village to Rattle a Doctor

The village of Portwenn is factious, but the show is filmed in Port Isaac on the coast of Cornwall. This location continues to offer some of the most breathtaking scenery to the series.

Back on the show with Doc Martin and Louisa, is his Aunt Ruth (Dame Eileen Atkins). Then there’s Bert Large (Ian McNeice) who gave up plumbing to run his own restaurant.

Al Large (Joe Absolom) is back as Bert’s son along with PC Joe Penhale (John Marquez) doing his best impression of a Keystone cop. Portwenn’s doctor’s office, or surgery as they call it, wouldn’t be the same without receptionist Morwenna Newcross (Jessica Ransom).

Then last, but certainly not least, is the woman who doles out the prescribed drugs along with keeping the village rumors afloat. That’s the local pharmacist and grapevine, Mrs. Tishell (Selina Cadell).

Each of these above characters has rattled Doc Martin on several occasions. But without their personalities, Portwenn would never be the same.

Doc Martin: Coming Soon or Watch It Now
