Days of Our Lives spoilers hint Stephen Nichols has returned to the popular NBC soap as Steve Johnson. The fan favorite is getting lots of social media chatter because of it. His sudden departure disappointed DOOL fans. The actor last aired in August of 2018.
Days of Our Lives Spoilers- Says Goodbye to Patch
Days of Our Lives spoilers show fans were disappointed that the show and Stephen Nichols parted ways. Petitions have been circulating online to bring the beloved character back to Days. Stephen agreed to accept a pay cut in order to stay on the show. He believed they had reached an agreement. Instead, the character was written off the show.
His arrest for espionage left the door open for a return of Steve Johnson. It was clear by an Instagram post that Stephen Nichols made that he didn’t want the story of Patch and Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) to end the way it did.
If the writers were ready to end “Stayla” (Kayla and Steve) for good they would’ve just ended the story with his arrest. Instead, they’re still talking about him. This is certainly a good sign that the rumors circulating are true. The writers are bringing Steve Johnson back to Salem. Social media has been full of excitement and buzz that Stephen Nichols is already back on set filming. If the rumors are true he will air in the Spring of 2019.

Days of Our Lives – Saying Goodbye To Salem’s Hero
Steve Johnson’s arrest took place offscreen. Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) informed Kayla of the arrest. Since the arrest, Roman has promised to help clear Steve. Days of Our Lives spoilers also revealed that John Black (Drake Hogestyn) would be on the case. John’s currently preoccupied with Marlena Evans’ (Deidre Hall) health. He will certainly be on the case once “Doc” is feeling better.
Kayla has been going head to head with Stefan DiMera (Tyler Christopher). It’s clear she blames him for Steve’s arrest. Stefan’s playing it cool. If he’s responsible he’s certainly doing a good job of playing dumb.

Days of Our Lives – The Future of Steve and Kayla Johnson
Kayla blames Stefan but she isn’t innocent. Steve did not want Stefan’s help. He was adamant about it. Kayla went behind Steve’s back and asked for Stefan’s help anyway. Now the Johnson’s are paying the price, especially Steve.
Kayla often sits on a high horse looking down on others. Despite her faults, she often lectures others on their faults. Now she’s the one who really messed up. Because of Kayla, Steve committed a crime against his country. The former Merchant Marine and ISA Agent loves his country. Now he’s been turned into a spy. Can Steve ever forgive Kayla for what she’s done?

It’s clear that fans are not ready for the Stayla to end. If the rumors swirling are true they won’t have to. Steve Johnson has been a huge part of Days of Our Lives for a long time. He’s part of one of Salem’s favorite super couples. He’s a true hero, especially to his “Sweetness”.
Fans of Days of Our Lives would like nothing more than for Stephen Nichols to return as Steve Johnson. Additionally, happy fans mean higher ratings for the show. Therefore, it makes sense for the writers to bring Steve back to Salem.
