‘Counting On’: Jessa Duggar’s Husband Freaks out their Kids

Counting On‘s Jessa Duggar Seewald helped her husband Ben Seewald freak out two of their four kids. They repeated a prank they’d once played on their older sons, Spurgeon Seewald and Henry Seewald. And it floored their two daughters.

Jessa Duggar’s all about her husband Ben Seewald and adores him. So, she was all-in when he decided to make a big change to his looks. Since late last year, Ben’s been growing out his facial hair.

For all of Fern Seewald’s life (their youngest child), her dad’s had a beard. So, when he decided to clean up his act, the results were dramatic. But Ben did it in two stages with Counting On alum Jessa capturing all the moments.

You can see the before and during and after pics below. Ben Seewald’s beard had grown out pretty long. He definitely had a mountain man vibe. So, he wanted to shear it down. But first — a prank!

With Jessa recording, Ben sheared off the long beard and left himself with a horseshoe mustache — looking like a biker. Then, she told him to put on sunglasses. Jessa’s hubby also threw on a hoodie and got ready to prank the kids.

He snuck out the kitchen door. Then, he came around to knock at the front door. That’s when their plan to play a joke on their two young daughters began. But Jessa reported to Counting On fans that they’d done this to their boys before.

At the door, Ben adopted a weird accent and called himself “Uncle Billy Bob”. That sent Ivy into a gale of laughter. She had no idea that it was her father. She just knew the guy that came inside was hysterical.

Jessa prompted Ivy to help the new guy by finding the package he’d come to grab. Over and over Ivy giggled at this “stranger” in their house. But it was Fern’s reaction that was more dramatic.

Jessa Duggar Seewald handed baby Fern over to her dad in disguise. And Counting On followers can see the reaction below. Between the weird stache and the odd voice, Fern clearly didn’t know it was Ben. So, she got upset.

Meanwhile, the boys, Henry and Spurgeon, tried to keep quiet as long as they could. But then Spurgeon cracked and said “Hi daddy”. And that’s when Ivy seemed stunned. She tried to figure it out but struggled.

Then, her father explained what he did and even showed her the pile of shaved-off whiskers. And then he let her watch while he finished cleaning up his scruff.

Counting On Before and After Dad Gets a New Look — Mom Loves Ben Either Way

Jessa Duggar also brought in Fern to watch her dad shave off the rest of the weird mustache. He cleaned it all off and came out really clean-shaven. And with the kids watching, they all finally got what he’d done.

Then, when Counting On alum Ben picked up Fern, she smiled at her dad — although she’s never seen him without facial scruff in her life. As for Jessa Seewald, she says she loves her husband, whatever looks he’s rocking.
