Lucky for him, the Newmans circle the wagons to protect Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and keep her nosey ex-husband at bay. Did Ashland Locke Fake His Death Years Ago on Young and the Restless?
Victoria Newman‘s doubts about her fiance Ashland Locke continue to grow. She needs to know everything before she can commit her life to this man. When she learns the name of a man who died 40 years ago, she demands Ash tell her how he is connected to the deceased on Young and the Restless.
Spoilers next week say Ashland is forced to admit it is him. Decades ago, his name was Bobby DeFranco. The world believes Bobby died in a car accident all those years ago. It seems he went to great lengths to hide from his past on Young and the Restless. After Bobby’s “death” then, Ashland Locke was born.

But why did he need to start over? Did he fake his death? He confesses his true identity and name to Victoria at last. But is he still holding back some of the truth on Young and the Restless? He has a history of only giving tidbits of his past. His story of wanting to escape an abusive childhood doesn’t ring true given this new info.
So why would Ashland Locke fake his death to disappear in his 20s? Did he get life insurance money to buy the television studios that started his career? Was he on the run from the law, or is his birth family dangerous in some way? It seems this newest development will bring more questions than answers on Young and the Restless.
Victoria Newman’s Trust Destroyed on Y&R?
On Young and the Restless, there are two factions inside the family chasing these skeletons in Ashland’s closet – plus a nefarious person outside. Nick Newman‘s (Joshua Morrow) eager to beat Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) to the punch. So, with Phyllis Summers‘ (Michelle Stafford) help, they hone in on the name of the young man who died that might be Ash’s true identity.
At the same time, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) gets wind of Billy contacting Ashland’s blackmailer, Jesse Gaines (Jamison Jones). So, the Mustache puts a scare into that guy. Meanwhile, Nick hops on the family jet to go chase his lead. In the end, the truth they dig up rocks Victoria’s world. Ashland Locke promised he told Victoria everything about his past, as Soap Dirt covered here recently.
However, she learns more and more every day. Victoria will struggle to trust Ash as their wedding date grows near. Will Vikki be able to put her concern aside and marry Ashland on Young and the Restless? Scoops hint that she’s unsure she can take his confession at face value. She loves so many things about her beau. However, this newest revelation may be too much. Will she and Ashland make it to say, “I do”?
Young and the Restless Next Week: Everyone Learns Ashland’s Secret Past – Why is He Hiding from It?
Soon, the name Bobby DeFranco is on everyone’s tongue. But who was that young man and why is Ashland so desperate to keep that name out of everyone’s mouth? It almost has a mobster-like feel to it. So, perhaps Ashland Locke was part of a dangerous family he needed to get away from. Or he might have been a wanted man.
Clearly, Ashland’s desperate to stay away from it all on Young and the Restless. The big question is whether this reveal has any payoff. Or if it’s much ado about a whole lot of nothing. Billy refuses to stop digging and he’ll also find this information on his own just as Nick and Victor land on it and bring it to Victoria. And they’ll confront Ash.
Billy might plan a big exposé on ChanceComm but he’s soon to be hit by a barrage of threats from his ex-wife, her mother, father, and everyone. His fixation is getting the best of him and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) is enabling his bad habits. Ashland Locke was trying to get away from something when he “died.” So once his secret is revealed, will the past could come back to haunt him on Young and the Restless?
