Angry ‘Big Brother’ Fans Accuse CBS of ‘Erasing Black Voices’

The Big Brother house blew up on Sunday, and how CBS/Paramount handled the Live Feeds outraged many subscribers. Now, they’re accusing the network of silencing minority voices in the house and shielding Kyle Capener. Here’s the latest.

Big Brother Live Feeds Cut Out Critical Moments for People of Color

BB24 fans paying for the Live Feeds are upset at the constant interruptions making it not worth the cost of the monthly subscription. But more than that, they’re upset at the timing of blackouts and what’s being said when the feeds cut.

For instance, last night on the feeds, Taylor Hale began talking about her experience as a woman of color in the game. She said, “I’m going to dedicate this goodnight message to every black woman who has been in the Big Brother house.”

Then, Taylor said, “It is a unique experience, and if you’re watching this week unfold, I’m sure you…” and then they cut her off. One upset feedster said in response, “stop erasing black voices.” But there’s more than just this instance.

During the blow-up on Sunday, as Michael Bruner and Brittany Hoopes finally spilled the beans on Kyle’s anti-POC talk, the feeds selectively cut in and out. And once Kyle slunk back into the house after trying to self-evict, they cut out for hours.

BB24 Reveal of Kyle’s White Alliance Talk Blocked for Minority Houseguests

Sunday morning in the Big Brother 24 house dawned with Michael and Brittany intent on exposing Kyle’s pejorative chatter about black houseguests. So, they invited Taylor and Monte into the Have Not room for a discussion.

This is a pivotal moment and why people pay for Live Feeds. But instead of showing the meeting, they showed four screens of Turner asleep in the HoH room. The best case scenario is that they cut the feeds so they can use the footage on an episode.

Big Brother Live Feeds blocked

The worst case is that whoever was manning the BBLF cameras deliberately chose to silence the session where black houseguests learned about Kyle saying they were aligning with a plot to take out white houseguests.

Of note is that when the duo later told Alyssa Snider their info, Big Brother aired that chat on the Live Feeds. They also aired the two talking to Turner about it in the Head of Household room. So, they aired them talking to white houseguests, but not people of color…

Will Big Brother Air the House Scandal or Whitewash it Away?

After word spread about Kyle, he flipped out and went crying to the Diary Room with a plan to self-evict. Our source at CBS says that producer Alison Grodner got involved in the effort to get him under control, manage his breakdown, and get him back in the game.

Since then, it seems like every time someone starts talking about what Kyle said and did, the feeds cut. There was likely a tense house meeting last night, but the feeds stayed down. So, will all this (or any of this) make it onto a Big Brother episode this week?

CBS cutting live feeds

“Stop Protecting Kyle” was trending on Twitter with CBS, the show, and Paramount all getting tagged in angry posts. Another tweet said when Terrance and Monte “start discussing the racism against them, the feeds cut”.

If BB24 doesn’t air this drama, expect the outcry against them for protecting sketchy behavior by trying to pretend it didn’t happen. Some fans hope CBS is saving it all for the shows airing Wednesday and Thursday.

Until then, if the feeds keep cutting at key moments where race and discrimination comes up, there will continue to be accusations and anger against the network.

Big Brother live feeds controversy

Today already, the very selective muting continues. Apparently, Terrance blew up last night because he went today to apologize to Turner for being “overly aggressive”.

Turner said, “this issue is far beyond me to feel any type of way about your aggression and…” then feeds cut out again. But CBS should know fans are watching closely to see when they cut the feeds and who’s talking (and the topic) when it happens.
