Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Abe Carver Dies – Life Flashes Before His Eyes

DOOL spoilers confirm Abe Carver’s dead on the operating table next week. Recently, Abe stumbled across Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) and Carmine (Richard Stevens) arguing over a gun. The bullet meant for the mobster pierces the mayor. Jake jumped into action, calling the ambulance. Meanwhile, mob man Carmine made his escape.

While the cops grills Jake this week on Days of Our Lives, Abe’s situation goes from bad to worst. He flatlines in surgery. Dr. Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) tries to kickstart his heart with a defibrillator. Then, Abe walks into the light as Kayla declares she lost him on the table. He sees his angelic wife Lexie who died of cancer years ago on the other side.

Family and friends gather to pray for the fallen Mayor, including his son Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) who flies in from South Africa.  It’s been 40-years since Abe first arrived as a young police officer. Thankfully, despite him dying in the OR, they’re able to revive him. He wakes with a message from beyond, in Days of Our Lives spoilers.

DOOL History Lesson: Who is Abe Carver?

Some Days of Our Lives viewers may not remember a time without Daytime Emmy Award-winning James Reynolds on the show. In fact, he’s played Abe Carver since 1981. He came to Salem to investigate human trafficking. As a highly skilled law enforcement officer, he eventually became the police commissioner before retiring and pursuing city politics.

Of course, Abe had romances on Days of Our Lives. Two flings gave him Brandon Walker (Matt Cedeno) and Lani Price (Sal Stowers). Then, love of his life, Lexie Carver (then Renee Jones), birthed Theo (Cameron Johnson). They faced a challenge with Theo’s autism diagnosis. This story touched lives and hit close to home for many fans and their families.

You may recall Lexie was villain Stefano DiMera’s (late Joseph Mascolo) daughter on Days of Our Lives. That caused much drama but Abe’s wife always kept the peace as best she could. Still, he never forgave his father-in-law for the carcinogenic tunnels that gave Lexie terminal cancer. Today, he still has a special place in his heart for his late wife.

Skip ahead many years, Abe’s engaged to Paulina Price (Jackee Harry) on Days of Our Lives. She’s Tamara Price’s (Marilyn McCoo) sister and his presumed baby mama. Little does he know, Paulina’s been lying for years because she is really Lani’s mother. And based on that, Maury Povich could bust in to say, “Abe, you’re NOT the father!”

Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Lani Learns the Truth About Her Father

DOOL spoilers reveal Lani soon finds out Abe Carver is not the person she thinks he is. In fact, Auntie P is not who she claims to be either. Lani learns Mama Paulina lied about her biological parents. Further, she gains a half-sister, Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens).

Days of Our Lives updates hint Lani and little sister Chanel blast Paulina for keeping them apart as siblings. However, as Abe recovers from his near-fatal wound, this news could literally break his heart. However, DOOL spoilers suggest there may be a twist to this reveal. Could Lani be his daughter after all? But if so, how?

Fans worry that this brush with death means James Reynolds is retiring from the NBC sudser. However, in a recent tweet he assures fans he’s staying put on Days of Our Lives. Whew! Watch his tribute this week on Days as Soap Dirt confirms that Abe dies then miraculously returns to life after a heavenly encounter.
