90 Day Fiance: What Now caught up with Jonathan Rivera and Fernanda Flores during their relationship fallout. The couple had only been married for six months when their relationship started to go downhill. Fernanda was not happy living in Lumberton, NC. However, Jonathan didn’t want to move because of his business that he worked over 9 years to build. After numerous failed attempts trying to convince Jonathan to move, Fernanda decided to make the move to Chicago herself.

Here’s a look at what happened between TLC reality stars Fernanda and Jonathan after their season of 90 Day Fiance ended.

90 Day Fiance: What Now – Fernanda Not Happy In North Carolina

Fernanda Flores considers her town in Mexico small. However, she states that Lumberton is even smaller. Therefore, it is a change from what she is used to. She explains that in Lumberton there are no opportunities for her. Fernanda also can’t drive. Therefore, she has to depend on Jonathan Rivera for everything. The young 90 Day Fiance star said she had independence and felt trapped.

The 90 Day Fiance: What Now Mexico native admits that she is a city girl. She wants to be in Chicago. Fernanda will have the opportunity to make her American dreams come true if she moved to the city. She enjoys the challenges of living in a big city. However, Jonathan doesn’t want to leave small town Lumberton.

What Now Star Wants To Live In Chicago Without Husband

Fernanda Flores tells Jonathan Rivera that she will not live in Lumberton forever. She tries to convince her 90 Day Fiance husband to move to The Windy City so she can follow her dreams. However, Jonathan doesn’t want to make the move because of his business. Fernanda thinks that he is being selfish.

The 90 Day Fiance: What Now producers ask Fernanda Flores how much longer is she willing to stay in Lumberton. Her response is only a couple of months. She hints leaving Lumberton without her husband. She explains that the right move is for her to leave first. Fernanda wants to work in Chicago and have her own apartment. Fernanda believes that when she is gone, Jonathan will realize just how much she cares for him. She adds “once I’m gone he’ll miss me.”

90 Day Fiance Update: Jonathan Rivera Files For Divorce

According to Jonathan Rivera, their relationship began to fall a part around Christmas. During a Christmas party at his friend’s house, Fernanda Flores tried to embarrass him in front of his friends. She even started to flirt with another man to get Jonathan’s attention. Jonathan left the party angry. However, Fernanda came home an hour and a half later, packed her bags and left.

Since the couple split, Fernanda Flores moved to Chi Town and they don’t speak. However, Jonathan Rivera did tell Fernanda that he was filling for a divorce. In which, she replied telling him she owns half of everything that is his. In order to protect his financial interests he sees a lawyer.

The 90 Day Fiance: What Now star finds out from the lawyer that he could possibly no longer be financially responsible for Fernanda. If he cancels the financial support he signed for the K1 visa. However, Fernanda’s green card could be denied. She could also be deported. As for Fernanda getting half of everything, that is all up to the judge. In the meantime, Jonathan submitted a request to cancel the Affidavit of Support and filed for a divorce.
