90 Day Fiance: Charlie Potthast Still Drinking & Problematic on Happily Ever After
On the Sunday, September 26, 2022 episode of Happily Ever After, Charlie Potthast was front and center again. His drinking was a hot topic as was his estrangement from family. His sister, Libby Potthast Castravet, say no to her mother’s birthday party because of her big brother.
It’s Libby and Charlie’s mom’s 60th birthday – a huge milestone. But with his siblings upset at him for boozing and brawling, this might be a huge 90 Day Fiance disaster. On HEA, he finally got to air his side of these volatile events and a lot came out. Then, he shared even more on social media after the episode.
The whole Potthast family seem to think Charlie is an alcoholic and that’s why he acts out. But the rogue in question and his devoted wife, Megan Potthast blame his brother-in-law Andrei Castravet for all of it. He called the Moldovan “a manipulator” and more.

Elizabeth Potthast’s mother, Pamela Putnam, was ready to celebrate turning 60 in style. But because Charlie Potthast would be there for his mom at the party on 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After. Libby, her husband, and her sisters initially boycotted the event.
And it was about his drinking, but Libby’s mom Pamela thinks Andrei drinks as much as Charlie and says so on the TLC show. In the end, the sisters Potthast — Jenn and Becky — decide to attend. Her mom and sisters also called out her husband for separating Libby from the fam… But she won’t hear it.
As for Charlie, he’s outraged that his father, Chuck Potthast, is also on Andrei’s side now. His wife Megan says his sisters now call him “toxic”. Meanwhile, he insists: “I’m not an alcoholic”. He calls it a “bullsh*t” label that his youngest sister and her Moldovan husband are putting off on him.
After the 90 Day Fiance spinoff episode aired, Charlie had more to say. He ranted on Instagram, “When the grass is cut, the snakes will show!” And he said, “Am I an a**hole? Yes. But I’m cool tho.” What do you think? Cool or an a-hole or both?
