Angela Deem’s followers have questioned her health status for the past couple of years. In 2022, fans noticed that 90 Day Fiance: The Last Resort star had developed a concerning dark spot on her bottom lip. Seeing that she is a longtime heavy smoker, many believed the spot may have been a stain caused by smoking.
But as time has passed, fans said they noticed changes to the spot on Angela’s lip. Her followers began to question and express concern for the reality television personality. Cold sores and allergic reactions can also cause dark spots on the lips.
However, as viewers may recall, she mentioned a number of times that she has a long family history of cancer. During previous seasons of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After, she shared that her mother, Glenda Standridge, battled cancer on five occasions.

In the past, Angela went through a previous cancer scare. At age 54, Deem sought out medical advice from her gynecologist to discuss the chances of conceiving a child with her husband, Michael Ilesanmi. Since her monthly cycles were irregular, as a precaution, she underwent an endometrial biopsy to rule out the possibility of uterine cancer. In the end, she was cancer-free. But she had a near-zero chance of becoming pregnant.
TLC Star Goes Back under the Knife for More Plastic Surgery?
The 90 Day Fiance: The Last Resort cast member Angela had another cancer scare recently. The spot on her bottom lip began to show signs of change. So, she finally took the advice of her followers and medical team and reportedly had the spot biopsied. In early October, she shared a video on social media of her lip-syncing, revealing a scabbed lip sore. Angela’s followers immediately began commenting about the sore.
One follower wrote, “Angela had surgery on her lip to fix it from the biopsy she had four months ago. No C word, Thank God!”
When another asked if they had seen the biopsy results, they replied “no.” But they shared that Angela replied to questions in the comment section of a previous post. So, it seems that she may have luckily avoided another frightening cancer scare.
Is Angela’s Run with TLC Coming to an End?
Now that Angela Deem has control of her bottom-lip issues, she may face another problem. New reports say that she and her spouse, Michael Ilesanmi’s, time with TLC may have run its course. It is no secret that they are not the most popular franchise couple.
Many TLC viewers have called for the network to cut ties with the pair for years. Her disruptive and, at times, dangerous actions have turned viewers against her. They have also caused conflicts and arguments with the other cast members. Many of her co-stars say they no longer care to work with her due to her attitude.

They claim it has become stale and drawn out. They add that they are over it and would rather see the network bring in new, fresh faces and stories.
During past seasons of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After, Angela Deem and Michael Ilesanmi’s outrageous storylines kept viewers interested and returning.
