6 People Who Tried To Kill Sam On ‘General Hospital’

General Hospital fan-favorite Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) had more than her fair share of danger, and many attempts have been made on her life over the years on GH. So, take a look back with us at six people that tried to kill Sam on the ABC sudser.

#1 Sam McCall Kidnapped by The Balkan on General Hospital

Years ago on GH, Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil) came back into town seeking protection from The Balkan (Daniel Benzali), a European crime lord. So, she turned to her ex-husband Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Turns out, the Balkan had been hiding in plain sight as attorney Theo Hoffman. General Hospital spoilers recall he planted a bomb in Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) limo.

Then, he kidnapped Sam and locked her inside. When the car exploded, Sonny thought it was Brenda that was trapped inside. Of course, Jason was horrified to see that it was Sam instead, on GH. Luckily, the car was bombproof, and Sam survived. However, she suffered a concussion and loss of her hearing. Thankfully, her hearing returned, and she made a full recovery on General Hospital.

#2 Shot by Manny Ruiz on GH

Back in the day, Manny Ruiz (Robert LaSardo) came on the scene and terrorized Sam McCall on General Hospital. He threatened her and broke into her apartment many times. Remember, he kept stalking her while going on a killing spree murdering several citizens on GH.

One night, while running to her boyfriend Jason, Manny shot Sam. She was severely hurt on General Hospital. As a result, Jason broke up with her to protect Sam from his dangerous lifestyle. Of course, they would reunite down the road and still had many more years together on GH.

#3 Targeted by an Old Enemy

Another person who tried to off Sam on General Hospital was the Text Message Killer that turned out to be Diego Alcazar (Ignacio Serricchio). Remember, Diego wanted Sonny and Jason to pay for ordering the murder of his father, Lorenzo Alcazar (Ted King). So, he targeted all the women close to Jason and Sonny to make them experience the same pain they caused him.

Sam supposedly killed him years ago, but he survived and came back to town seeking vengeance. So, she escaped but was run down by a car in the process. At least, she wasn’t severely hurt. But Diego went home he was waiting for her. Then, he tried to kill her again but didn’t succeed and, in the end, Diego wound up dead, recall General Hospital recaps.

#4 Helena Ordered Jake Doe to Kill Sam on General Hospital

Back when Jason (then Billy Miller) had no memory of who he was on GH and went by Jake Doe, he took Sam hostage and tried to murder her. Come to find out Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) was controlling him with a microchip she implanted in his brain.

So, Helena ordered him to kill her on General Hospital. But, he didn’t remember this until Sam pushed him. Of course, he felt horrible, but Sam forgave him and hoped he would remember his identity and love for her on GH. Eventually, he did remember, but then it came out he wasn’t Jason after all. Then, the real Stone Cold returned to General Hospital.

#5 Shoved off a Bridge By Her Aunt

While pregnant with Scout, Sam was attacked by her awful Aunt Olivia Jerome (Tonja Walker). She was heavily pregnant and wound up in a confrontation with her dad’s sister on the bridge. Olivia made threats then shoved her over the rail and left her for dead.

Sam struggled to climb up but was in labor by then. She and her little girl almost died down in the filthy culvert. But, back then on General Hospital, her baby daddy Drew turned up in time to help deliver their child and get her out of the life and death scenario.

#6 Left for Dead In a Freezer by Shiloh on General Hospital

Most recently, on GH, Sam was in danger from creepy Dawn of Day leader Shiloh Archer (Coby Ryan McLaughlin). Remember, he came to town looking for revenge for her scamming his father into bankruptcy back in her days of running cons. After making Sam’s life miserable for months, he almost killed her. Remember, Shiloh knocked her out and locked her in a freezer to suffocate. Of course, it was Jason to the rescue.

Thankfully, he got to her in time and saved her life on General Hospital. No doubt, Sam’s always in danger and almost lost her life countless times. But, with the help of Jason, she always managed to survive. Currently, it’s too dangerous for them to be together, so they’ve called it quits- for now. But, you can take a look back at some of Sam McCall’s past moments with and without Jason during classic GH episodes.
