1000-Lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton nearly died in rehab. This incident happened after Tammy received the life-saving intervention of the tracheostomy.

Tammy Slaton from 1000-Lb Sisters decided to get help and admit herself to rehab. She says one of the reasons why she decided to make this decision for herself.
She said it is because she’s “fed up with being sick” all of the time. However, after she went into rehab, Tammy’s moved to a hospital because she stopped breathing.
In the hospital, Tammy from 1000-Lb Sisters ended up with a tracheostomy. This is a tube put in her throat helps Tammy breathe.
Without this tube in, she has difficulty breathing and can’t talk. However, Tammy was placed in a medically induced coma to help her body heal from this traumatic incident. Her family is thrilled that she survived this scary incident.
TLC Celeb Drops Nearly 100 Pounds
On 1000-Lb Sisters, Tammy Slaton hasn’t given up on her weight loss efforts. She worked hard to stay active and make better diet choices. Also, the TLC celeb worked alongside Dr. Eric Smith to continue to shed weight.
While in rehab, she dropped “nearly” 100 pounds. However, Dr. Eric Smith thinks she will go even further in her health journey. She’s working on supporting her weight on her legs and walking.

While in rehab, her goal is to qualify for weight loss surgery. Also, Tammy from 1000-Lb Sisters wants to work on things in her life to make her happy.
1000-Lb Sisters: Life-Threatening Emergency for Tammy
Tammy Slaton from 1000-Lb Sisters suffered a life-threatening emergency at 3:09 AM while in rehab. Nurse aids rushed into her room when the emergency alarm started going off.
The medical staff at the rehab worked quickly and discovered there was a blockage in Tammy’s trach. This blockage prevented her lungs from receiving oxygen.
After the blockage’s cleared, Tammy’s able to breathe again. So, she recounts the scary situation. She says she “literally about died” because of this blockage.
Next, she says she coughed a lot and her oxygen levels dropped to around 20. Then, the 1000-Lb Sisters celeb she says she felt like she couldn’t breathe. Plus, she says by the time the medical staff gave her help, she was nearly “blacked” out.
Next, Tammy explained mucus gets thick around her trach. So, she says she couldn’t breathe at all and started to panic. Then, she says she almost died from this situation.
Medical professionals suctioned “a booger” from the clog of the trach tube. Thankfully, she is okay after this scary incident.
