1000-lb Sisters has Tammy Slaton and her sister Amy Slaton are gaining a large fan base quickly. The two are known for being oversized and trying to fix that. While Amy has been able to shed pounds, Tammy has not had the same results. In the time span of their two seasons, Amy lost over 100 pounds while Tammy Gained that. She went into this show with many health issues that make it hard to move around and lose weight.

In Season 1, she shares what she is dealing with. She says that she has had gout, a bad gallbladder, high blood pressure, thyroid complications, and a blood clot in her lung. These are just a small part of what is on the list of things that she is dealing with. Tammy explains that she hasn’t lived the healthiest life style.

Amy Slaton already got her surgery and is recovering fine. She has her dream life, is married to Michael Halterman, and has a beautiful baby Gage Halterman. Tammy on the other hand is still struggling to lose weight, and her family fears she might die soon.

1000-lb Sisters’ Tammy Slaton shares that one day she woke up and had started her monthly. She says that she went to use the bathroom and realized that she was bleeding way more than she should be. Tammy explains that there was blood everywhere, and she told her mom she needed to go to the hospital. At the hospital, she continued to bleed badly, and they sent her to another hospital to get a pap smear. There she stayed in the pregnancy ward because there was nowhere else for them to put her.

She says after a week, she finally stopped bleeding and was able to go home. She was told she would need a D and C and IUD. One month later, the bleeding started again. She says that it was far worse this time, and Tammy had to go back to the hospital. Tammy says that she bled so bad that she says she needed life support. But then she laughs because she misspoke. She meant to say she bled so bad she needed four blood transfusions.

TLC Star Needs Surgery

Tammy Slaton from 1000-lb Sisters shares her time in the hospital for serious period bleeding. She bled so much that she needed four blood transfusions. They transferred her to Lexington, Kentucky, where she had to get surgery. She also shares she needs her gallbladder taken out. While she was in surgery, they put her on life support.

They performed a three-hour-long D and C where they go in and remove tissue from the uterine lining. This helps with symptoms like heavy bleeding. Then they send it away to see if it is cancerous. Tammy says that she does have pre-cancer. Then they gave her an IUD to help with her period as well.
