At the beginning of 1000-lb Sisters, Tammy Slaton weighed 605 pounds. Her goal was to lose enough weight to qualify for her gastric bypass surgery. At her lowest, Tammy says she weighed 550 pounds. Also, she didn’t need a walker to move around.
This news comes as a shock to many, especially because of the weight Amy Slaton lost. Amy Slaton is the sister of Tammy Slaton. Amy Slaton is down 124 pounds. She lost this within four months after her bariatric surgery.
The siblings both admitted that their father’s passing is why they quickly gained. But, they decided to lose pounds together on 1000-lb Sisters. Although they had different reasons to slim down, they decided to get bariatric procedures together.
Celeb Blames Pandemic for Slip Up
Now, 1000-lb Sisters lead Tammy is blaming the pandemic for her weight gain. In season two spoilers, she struggles to walk by herself. She depends on a walker to walk a few feet.
After taking several steps, she needs to sit down to breathe. A woman walks behind Tammy with a chair for her to sit on when she can’t walk any further. Even after a few steps, she appears to be struggling to catch her breath.
Also, she says she’s slipped on her progress during the pandemic but isn’t sure how much she regained. Tammy looks larger than when she was at her highest BMI in season one. Amy is very concerned and says that her sister needs to lose more weight.

Not only is this star fighting for her weight loss, but she’s also having other health problems. Recently, Tammy revealed that she tested positive for COVID-19. She was in the hospital for several weeks.
