‘1000-lb Sisters’: Tammy Slaton Is Given a Death Sentence

1000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton has been on the minds of fans a lot recently. They want to know about her weight loss and her progress. Doctors give her news that is shocking to hear.

1000-lb Sisters: Tammy Slaton Starts Her Journey

1000-lb Sisters features Tammy Slaton and Amy Slaton making their way on a weight loss journey. The sisters got their show name because they had a combined weight over 1000 pounds. Amy started at over 400 pounds and Tammy was over 600. The pair showed struggles with food and exercise. Amy started to excel with her progress and Tammy did not. But her friends and family believe that many factors play into her not losing the weight.

One of the biggest issues was that her boyfriend, at the time, Jerry Sykes met her on a site for bigger women. And even after they broke up, she continued to interact with men who desired larger women. Not having her significant other on her side cheering her on worried her family, especially big brother Chris Combs. Also, Tammy was hiding that she was cheating on her diet and it caused her to gain 100 pounds.

TLC Star Loses a Doctor

1000-lb Sisters shows Tammy Slaton’s struggles with sticking to a plan. She was seeing Dr. Charles Procter, who specializes in weight loss for extreme cases of obesity. He stars in his own show Too Large, where he helps people lose weight in situations like hers. He offers weight loss surgery if a patient can prove they will keep losing after the procedure. A patient has to hit a goal weight, and her goal weight was 50 pounds. When she could not, Dr. Procter referred her to a different doctor so that she didn’t have to travel so far every few months.
