‘1000-lb Sisters’: Tammy Slaton Accused of Breaking Law

1000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton may have landed herself in some hot water. There is a mix-up in copyright law, and it looks like Tammy did not do her research.

1000-lb Sisters: Tammy Slaton Opens a Store

1000-lb Sisters personality Tammy Slaton announced that she is officially selling merchandise for fans. She has teamed up with a man named Quincy that agreed to help her launch the store. Tammy says that they have pop sockets, t-shirts, and hoodies available. All this and more, and the best part is the super cute designs.

The problem? Neither she nor Quincy created the design, they took them off the internet from someone else. The designs were created by an artist named Ponychops. Fans warned Tammy Slaton on her page about copyright law and had their comments deleted. Quincy has been going live with Tammy for a week now, and fans have asked what is going on with them. Tammy from 1000-lb Sisters says she will not confirm if they are together, and neither will Quincy. However, both of them are being accused of using images that do not belong to them.

TLC Star Faces Allegations

1000-lb Sisters is about Tammy Slaton along with her sister Amy Slaton. Before the two had their own television show, they were stars on the internet. They have sold things online together, and fans loved it. But now that things are different with Amy having a baby and Tammy starting to get some minor fame. Now, the sisters don’t really collaborate anymore. This is why Tammy Slaton found Quincy to help her with her new line.

But, Quincy may not be qualified for this as he doesn’t seem to know the laws that govern copyrights. While is not seen on 1000-lb Sisters, Quincy is blowing up at fans when they accuse him of using “stolen” artwork. He says the artwork is not his, but that doesn’t mean he’s stealing it. Quincy says Tammy Slaton is allowed to use the images because she is the person in the image. However, according to copyright laws that the image belongs to the artist, unless they sign over their rights.

Even if the artwork or photo is of a celebrity, the celeb does not own the rights to it. Recently, Jennifer Lopez posted a picture of herself on Instagram. But, the photographer did not give her the rights to use the photograph that he took. She was sued for $150,000.

According to Federal copyright law, if Tammy doesn’t get permission to use the artwork, she could be breaking the law by using the artwork to sell stuff.
