‘Young and the Restless’ Twist: Did Chelsea Newman Kidnap Mariah Copeland?
Young and the Restless spoilers ask if Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) could be behind the abduction of Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) if the more obvious suspect is just a red herring. Right now, it certainly looks like a certain doctor that just returned to Genoa City is the perpetrator. But if the CBS soap is pivoting another way, could it be that Chelsea’s last plot for a while is stealing the surrogate?
Young and the Restless News: Chelsea Newman Kidnapped Mariah Copeland for Revenge?
Recent Y&R scenes have only had Chelsea Newman on Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Chloe Mitchell’s (Elizabeth Hendrickson) video screens at the office. So, that means Mariah Copeland could be anywhere. Even in GC overseeing the care of a kidnapped surrogate. You can see from the shot below Missy Egan shared that she was working up until well into August.
That means Chelsea should have scenes airing into September or even later on Young and the Restless. And that means she’s into some plot. Now, Missy is out on maternity leave but she promised something big would happen before she left. So far, nothing like that has come to fruition. So, if Chelsea Newman is the person holding Mariah that would be huge.
What better to make Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) pay than to take her pregnant daughter Mariah hostage. This could be the plot twist Missy referred to as her exit story. No doubt, that would be a shock on Young and the Restless. Spoilers know Adam’s made it clear he’s done with Chelsea. And she assumes it is Sharon that he loves.
If you know Chelsea Newman’s history, you know she’s capable of anything for revenge. The con woman went to extremes to hurt Adam and Sharon when she thought they betrayed her. So, she could still be unstable with payback on her mind. Young and the Restless scoops have shown she will do whatever it takes, including poisoning an innocent man, to get what she wants.
Chelsea Hurts Several Genoa City Residents On Y&R?
Now, Stitch keeps turning up at strange times and telling lies on Young and the Restless. So, many viewers are certain he’s the kidnapping culprit. But, it could be Chelsea Newman – or her working with Stitch that did the dastardly deed. Now, people think she’s out of town caring for her mother. It is the perfect cover to throw people off her track.
And if someone called Anita Lawson (Catherine Bach), she’d lie for her daughter. With so few clues about who has Mariah, every angle must be considered. Revenge aimed at Sharon could be a powerful motivator on Young and the Restless. So, while Sharon may be the target, it also hurts Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway), who’s been a friend to Chelsea. So if she’s guilty, it’s a horrible way to repay her friendship.
It seemed ridiculous when Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) came to question Adam about Mariah Copeland. However, Chelsea might have intended to throw blame on Adam – like she did when she poisoned Rey. Plus, Adam kidnapped Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) back in the day. And more recently, Adam had his ex-fiance kidnapped. This might be her payback plot on Shadam on Young and the Restless.
Young and the Restless: Would This Plan Backfire as Sharon & Adam Grow Closer?
If Adam’s ex is the kidnapper, then her actions could ultimately have the opposite effect of what she wants. As soon as he heard about Mariah’s predicament, he sent a text to Sharon. Then, he made a beeline to Crimson Lights. If anything, the situation gives the exes another reason to spend time together.
Young and the Restless spoilers confirm someone saves Mariah Copeland in the next week. However, her loved ones might not find out who took her. Actress Camryn Grimes said viewers would learn the kidnapper’s identity soon. But that doesn’t mean the characters on the soap will. So, could we see Chelsea Newman on the other side of the camera watching Mariah in that little room?
If she is the perp, at least she’s got Mariah Copeland in a much nicer room than Adam stuffed Chelsea in last year. Remember that horrible little place, awful metal bed, and just a few bottles of water? So, do you think it’s Stitch, Chelsea, them working together, or someone else entirely on the CBS daytime drama?
