Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) told his son that his mother is still alive. And Kyle couldn’t believe it at first. But after much convincing, he realizes it is true. Jack then drops a bombshell. Diane Jenkins is in Genoa City and hopes to have a meeting.
Kyle Abbott is unsure of his next move. However, he soon realizes he needs to see what she has to say. The conversation is emotional for both Kyle and his mom. Diane begs for a second chance with her son. But Kyle doesn’t know if he can forgive his mother.

Diane promises she is a changed woman. She just wants to prove to Kyle Abbott that her wicked ways are behind her. Jack would like to see Diane leave town, never to return.
However, he promises his son he will support whatever decision he makes on Young and the Restless.

Kyle is hurt and emotional about Diane Jenkins’s previous choices. But his inner child missed his mother and wants to give her another opportunity to be in his life. After much thought, he decides to allow her back into his heart. He is cautiously optimistic.

However, there are many more people in Genoa City who will never forgive Diane. Kyle Abbott is happy she is home. But her many enemies have different thoughts. Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) considers her one of her worst foes.
They fought bitterly when the schemer lived in town. Now Phyllis is determined to protect her family from Diane. Things get complicated quickly once Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) comes home.
Kyle asks that she welcome his mother back. However, Phyllis will be in her ear. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) also wants Diane gone out of GC again.
