‘Young and the Restless’: Devon Hamilton’s Ongoing Baby Grab Upsets Fans

Devon Hamilton made peace with Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) and Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd). They found a custody arrangement that worked well for everyone.
However, Devon wants more. While the baby was still recovering from his bone marrow transplant, he insisted the boy stays with him. But, Abby and Chance cut the visit short.
They arrive unannounced and ask to take Dom home. Taken aback, Devon agrees to their request. However, he is not happy with how the situation plays out on The Young and the Restless.

But after they leave, Devon Hamilton is obviously upset. So much so that his girlfriend, Amanda Sinclair asks if they should pursue full custody. He hesitates but then decides against it. But her suggestion plants a seed that could grow in the music mogul’s mind.

Chance is finally getting help with his mental health. He is attending therapy regularly and has started to face his demons. However, it isn’t enough for Devon.
He still worries that Chance’s issues are negatively affecting Dom. It seems Abby and Chance can’t do anything right in the businessman’s eyes.

Social media is full of posts from unhappy fans. Many argue that the character has changed. Several expressed a strong dislike for the once admired man. Some have even threatened to stop watching Y&R if this storyline continues.
Young and the Restless Updates: Writers Miss Opportunity
As this storyline evolved, it was found that Devon was the perfect donor for Dom. He holds to key for the treatment of Dom’s rare blood disorder.
However, science shows that a biological parent would not be a 100% match. This discovery could have offered an out with this storyline.

However, this fact was ignored, and Devon’s obsession with Dominic continues. Several missed opportunities could have moved this plot point to the back burner. Instead, Devon continues to fret over his son’s well-being.

As online anger grows, fans hope the father shifts his attention elsewhere. It is time for this months-long storyline to end. Devon has so much potential. Let’s hope the powers that be finally move on and send Devon Hamilton in a new direction.
