Hey there, Young and the Restless fans. This is Soap Dirt on YouTube. And we want to talk about three unlikely couples that we think Young and the Restless should pair together.
And we are curious about what you think about our suggested pairings. One of them involves Adam Newman. One of them involves Kyle Abbott. And one of them involves Billy Abbott. Let’s dig in and talk about it.
Unlikely Romance Brewing between Adam Newman and Phyllis Summers on Y&R
All right. So the first unlikely couple Y&R should try, and I’m calling it unlikely just cause they haven’t tried it before. And we know that soap operas love to repeat romances, but as fans, we love the idea of something fresh, right?
A fresh new pairing. So what about Adam Newman with Phyllis Summers? He is heading into dark territory, and he’s spiraling. He is grieving the loss of the baby that he and Sally Spectra lost. And he is further devastated because Sally just openly blamed him for the death of their child.
Which, of course, It was going to happen anyway. And that’s what he said based on the information he had, the baby wasn’t going to survive anyway. So, of course, he told them to save her, but she’s being really awful to him.
And Adam’s just heartbroken, and then Victoria keeps, you know, plotting to screw with him at work. So there’s just a whole lot going on with Adam Newman. And he’s still watching Nick Newman spending time with Sally, which hurts too.
So, Adam is going to need some kind of comfort, some kind of romance in his life. And the easy thing to push him back into would be to push Adam back with Sharon because she’s single right now.
Will Young and the Restless Think Outside the Box?
But what if they did something really different, a little more fun? What about pairing him with Phyllis Summers? Right now, Phyllis is persona non grata all across Genoa City for faking her own death.
But that’s the kind of thing Adam Newman would never hold against her. And I don’t know if you remember when they first recast the role of Adam Newman with Mark Grossman. He was spider gambling in Vegas.
And when he first came back to town, he and Phyllis Summers actually spent a lot of time together. She was doing some hacking for him. They were spending time together. I felt like they had some really fun and funky chemistry, and they’re both troublemakers.
They are both in very dark places right now. They both see people that they care about being with someone that they wish they were not. So it feels like the stars could align for Adam and Phyllis Summers to be paired, and I think it would be really cool.
Kyle Abbott and Dr. Elena Dawson: A Potential Match on Young and the Restless
All right, our second couple that I don’t think that they would pair, but I would definitely like to see instead of where they’re going now, and that is Kyle Abbott with Dr. Elena Dawson. So, of course, right at this moment, Kyle is married to Summer Newman.
But he’s telling her this week that he wants a formal separation, and he wants her to move out of the Abbott mansion. He cannot forgive her for lying about Phyllis being alive so that his mom’s sent to jail. And just all the lying, because there was a whole lot of lying. And then, when he caught her in one lie, she’d tell another lie.
She kept lying basically until he had incontrovertible evidence in front of her. So Kyle is done. He walks away, he’s out drinking, and he runs into skeevy but beautiful Audra Charles at the GCAC they go upstairs, and they hit the sheets. But Audra’s trouble.
Kyle does not need her brand of trouble, and if he thought Summer being sketchy was bad, Audra is so sketchy she could assemble an Etch a Sketch out of nothing, all right?
Dr. Elena Dawson and Kyle Abbott: A Promising Connection on Y&R
So what would be even better for him would be somebody who is not devious. Who is not a plotter or a schemer and is not going to run around and do him dirty. And that would be Dr. Elena Dawson.
She is nursing a lot of heartbreak right now because skeevy Nate Hastings started banging his boss Victoria Newman. And he was stringing Elena along and lying to her while he was staying late at the office, drinking scotch, and making out with his boss.
And that was before they took that trip out of town. And she’s just not having it. You know, she’s confronted him and Victoria a couple of times, and she’s got some anger about her ex.
Well, Kyle’s got some anger, too, about Summer. So if these two ran into each other out somewhere vented, maybe they’d find a little spark because, for me, although Audra is gorgeous.
Kyle Abbott and Dr. Elena Dawson: A Breath of Fresh Air on Young and the Restless
Elena is also gorgeous, and she’s not a terror like Audra Charles is. I think Kyle would be much better served by getting involved with Dr. Elena Dawson. She is a good girl he can bring home to meet his dad and mom. You don’t want to bring Audra home for that. She’d try to bang everybody at the dinner table, right?
Considering Potential Pairings for Y&R
All right, let’s dig into our third and final couple that is unlikely but that we think would be super fun together. What if they paired this couple? Now mind you, each of the people that I’m about to mention is in a relatively new relationship with someone else.
So the presumption when I list this couple is that they will split up. And I’ll explain how I think they will split up. So how would it be to see Sally Spectra involved with Billy Abbott? All right.
Intriguing Young and the Restless Possibilities: Sally Spectra and Billy Abbott
Now I know Sally is with Nick Newman right now, and Billy is with Chelsea Lawson, but hear me out. So Sally is so aggrieved over losing her baby daughter that she is spiraling. She’s lashing out at Nick, she’s lashed out at Adam.
And then, when Nick defended Adam, she lashed out again. She doesn’t seem very interested in Nick’s idea of moving in together.
Unraveling Relationships and Potential New Bonds in The Young and the Restless
It’s just like she’s not interested in him right now. She is… It’s also in a very dark place, and Nick has been spending a lot more time with Sharon, and that’s rubbing Sally the wrong way. So I feel like Sally and Nick were going to inevitably split anyway because Nick almost always cheats.
That’s generally how a lot of his relationships break up. You know, he’s got so many exes in town, and he’s so hot. So I just think that Sally and Nick are not going to last. So I do think she’s going to be single at some point. But Billy’s dating Chelsea. And things seem really nice with them.
But that’s Billy Abbott in that relationship. When has Billy ever not screwed up a relationship? He has screwed up every relationship he has ever been in. This is probably the longest I can think of that he has been on an even keel with his behavior and his life choices.
Potential Chaos: Billy Abbott, Sally Spectra and their Fiery Connection on Y&R
And so, you know, maybe you can say, Oh, he’s changed. He’s never going to go nuts again, but chaotic. Billy is fun, as long as he’s not that gum-chewing weird version of himself they had a few years back. Remember that?
Oh, but I think that if Billy and Chelsea inevitably blow up because he does manage to screw things up That Billy and Sally could be a super fun couple because they’re both edgy. They can both be wild. They are both mavericks.
They’re both hot, and of course, everybody on the soaps are hot. I just think that they could have a very fiery spark, and if Sally took up with Billy, that would really, really aggravate Adam, which could be a whole lot of fun to watch. What do you think?
