Will Baby Battle Split Mariah and Tessa on ‘Young and the Restless’?
Young and the Restless this week has Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) not seeing eye to eye on their future – at least when it comes to children. That’s only because the song bird can see that her sweetheart’s off the rails about Dominic. But is Mariah so devastated that she might walk away from Tessa if she won’t start a family with her on the CBS soap?
Young and the Restless This Week: Mariah Copeland Wants a Baby in Tessa Porter’s Belly
Y&R episodes saw Mariah working to convince Tessa that the thing that would heal her heart is a baby. This came just after her breakdown at baby Dominic’s christening. When that proved too much for Mariah Copeland, she insisted that they pack their bags and leave the Chancellor Mansion. Tessa Porter was on board with that – so they left Abby Newman‘s (Melissa Ordway) house.
Now ensconced at the Grand Phoenix, Young and the Restless spoilers see that Tessa hoped her honey would relax and find a more peaceful state of mind. Instead, while she was in the shower, Mariah cooked up a grand plan for them to start making babies. Of course, there’s the caveat that came with being a surrogate. She’s not supposed to use her own womb yet.

But that’s no problem with two ladies in their relationship on Young and the Restless. Mariah Copeland thought it was a great idea if Tessa Porter popped a bun in her baby making oven so they could have a family. The look on Tessa’s face showed Y&R fans immediately that she was not on board. But the depressed surrogate plowed ahead, not noticing the disconnect.
Y&R Spoilers: Nap Time’s Over – Tessa Says No Baby
On Young and the Restless, after Mariah woke from a much-needed nap, Tessa Porter had to break it to her love gently that this was not the right time to start baby plans of their own. She can see what Mariah Copeland cannot. That this scheme is a Band-Aid she thinks will stop all the pain seeping out of her heart over “losing” baby Bowie.
The big question is – how long will it take others to see these huge red flags on Young and the Restless? Remember how long it took the others to listen to Tessa that Mariah was missing? The others believed she was on some inexplicably unscheduled business trip. So, Tessa Porter may raise her concerns – but getting others to take it seriously is another thing.

And we’d expect from Young and the Restless spoilers that Mariah Copeland might not take Tessa’s rejection well. Of course, her girlfriend’s right. This is no time to consider baby-making. But the redhead is so blinded by grief that she’s desperate for a distraction and thinks a baby is the way to make it happen. So, what will she do since her girlfriend won’t say yes?
Mariah Goes to Extremes on Young and the Restless – Will Tessa Split?
It seems clear that Mariah Copeland is in the throes of a mental breakdown. A mix of post-partum depression with some PTSD from the kidnapping thrown in to mess with her mind. Coupled with the fact that her captivity left her more deeply bonded to baby Chancellor than she should have been, and it’s a recipe for disaster on Young and the Restless.
Spoilers wonder if Tessa Porter’s refusal will spur her girlfriend to turn from her. There are a few ways this storyline could go. Although she’s told to avoid pregnancy for a year, she might try anyway. It would be easy for Mariah to find a guy to spend the night with. And she could try to make a baby on her own out of desperation.
Worst case on Young and the Restless is if she went off the deep end and kidnapped Dominic as Soap Dirt wondered she might do. If she thinks he’s Bowie, her baby, she might. Many fans adore the Mariah-Tessa pairing. And they’d hate to see this trauma sideline one of the few functional couples in Genoa City. What will Mariah Copeland do and can Tessa Porter pull her back from the brink?
