Will Abby Get a Real Baby Instead of a Prop on ‘Young and the Restless’?
Young and the Restless spoilers suggest Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) heads back to Genoa City soon and reunites with her baby Dominic. But will she and Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) have a real live baby by then? So far, fans are laughing at the obvious prop kid that’s nothing more than a wad of cloth.
When Will Young and the Restless Cast Dominic Philip Newman Abbott Chancellor at Last?
Y&R this week has Abby Newman reunited with Chance in Spain. And she tells him about their son Dominic Philip Newman Abbott Chancellor. She’s got to explain she used Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) sperm and Mariah Copeland’s (Camryn Grimes) womb to make their baby. And her husband missed out on all of it.
Worse yet, Young and the Restless spoilers indicate he doesn’t want to go back to GC with his wife. Instead, the undercover investigator wants to chase revenge against the bad guys that blew up his safe house. That doesn’t sound like a man ready to be a father. Complicating matters is that Devon’s playing dad back in GC.
But what’s most peculiar on Young and the Restless is that Devon seems to be holding a stuffed blanket. And Abby Newman dropped off what looks like an empty stroller. It’s painfully obvious that the soap hasn’t cast a baby Dom and everyone’s talking to a towel, blanket, or small pillow in these scenes. When will they cast him?
Will Chance Chancellor & Abby Newman Come Home to a Real Baby on Y&R?
Not once has Young and the Restless shown us baby Dom’s face. And his crying and coos are clearly audio effects and not a real child there on the set. So, we expect Abby to drag Chance back home in the next two weeks on Y&R. When they get there, will we finally see an adorable infant who’s the biological product of Abby and Devon?
Upcoming episodes of Young and the Restless see Chance and Devon in an intense conversation. It could be that Devon wants to know if the other man’s going to make family a priority. Right now, Abby’s hubby seems hell-bent on revenge rather than going home to meet his son. Soon, though, Abby Newman convinces her hubby to come home.
So, you can bet Abby makes a beeline to Devon’s penthouse to reclaim her kiddo, hint Young and the Restless spoilers. When Abby does, will we finally see a real baby in her arms? Is Y&R going to spend the money and cast a tot for the part of Dominic Chancellor? Or will we see his dad bonding with a lump in a baby blanket instead?
Young and the Restless: Dad Meets Dominic – Will He Have a Face at Last?
In every scene on Y&R since Dom’s birth, he’s been nothing but a lump wrapped in a baby blanket. No doubt, it’s a lot cheaper (and easier) for the soap opera to use a prop rather than a live human infant. But, it’s also unusual for something like this to go on this long on a daytime drama.
This week on Young and the Restless, Abby Newman introduces her husband to his son. That’s via video chat from Spain. So, will Dominic finally have a face by then? Often, soaps use a mix of a real baby, a prop, and a doll. Because actual infants can only film for a few minutes at a time. But, so far, Abby’s not held a baby for filming.

And Chance hasn’t been around for it. So, will the video meet and greet between him and his son be an infant or more lumpy props? Wait to see if Abby’s baby finally makes a debut. So far, there’s no IMDB credit for the role of Dom. With new-Chance here in a recast, perhaps Young and the Restless will recast that blanky with a baby.
